My tower is getting installed this week and was wondering about the speakers. I am on a budget. I have a thousand left for speakers, rope rack, exc. So 800 for 2 sets of double barrels is a lot. I think 2 single should be fine, but I don't wanna regret the purchase if its not. Whats your experiences?

You could always get just 2 speakers now and then get 2 later on. The only downside to that is later on, instead of having just 2 clamps on the tower you will have 4. But thats nothing big to most ppl. Im thinking about doing that myself just b/c of the cost of speakers.

I only have two speakers on my monster tower and I personally think they are plenty loud enough and I think they look pretty good, but like he said you could start with two then add two more later on.

My buddy has got 2 Polks on his monster tower but I don't remember how loud they are. Too many drunk times. But I am gonna start out with 2 and get 2 more later on. I think they are probably loud enough for me. I like to hear ppl talking without having to turn my music all of the way down.

adam355, I think you'll regret that unless you get HCLD's.

If you underpower them, you'll be really disappointed. For a $1000, you can do alot if you build them yourself. I did and saved a ton.

But, if it were me doing it over, I would spend a few hundred more and get a pair of any of these.

Yea it would be nice to be able to get a set of those NVS or Wetsounds but I know I can't afford them right now. Im on a tight budget. Us firefighters don't get paid big money.

I'm buying an amp so I don't see why they'd be underpowered. Those speakers are just out of my price range this summer. If i need to I'll sell them on ebay next summer and upgrade when I have more cash.

InDoNeZiAn, They are the loudest on the market and you can actually hear the music clearly while riding. They use outdoor concert type horns and woofers and pack them into a tower speaker.

Wetsounds makes HCLD also.
