Going to retire my old Nikon Coolpix 4300 (aka giving it to my teenage daughter) and I want to replace it, similar price
What I'm looking for are ones that take those individual series of people going from one side of the wake to the other
I know that's not all that great of a description, but I figure someone out there knows what I'm talking about |

Depends totally on how much you want to spend. Sometimes my buddy brings out his Nikon D200 and some various zoom lenses. Keep in mind that camera + lens can run you over $2k, but the pics it can take are awesome.
I just have a Canon SD 700 IS and it does a pretty good job at getting pics. |

you should look into the canon digital rebel xt, and the canon 20D (discontinued-but you could ebay one.)
the XT is newer, and does 3fps, which would be plenty for GREAT sequence shots, and the 20D has a 5fps burst, which would be even better. the only thing with getting a DSLR like the ones i mentioned is the best (most useful focal lengths) for wakeboarding will be in the 70-200mm category. anything less then that will be great for taking overall w2w shots with background, but you will need a lot more reach to get tight frames around the boarder. |
