Going to retire my old Nikon Coolpix 4300 (aka giving it to my teenage daughter) and I want to replace it, similar price

What I'm looking for are ones that take those individual series of people going from one side of the wake to the other

I know that's not all that great of a description, but I figure someone out there knows what I'm talking about Laughing

Depends totally on how much you want to spend. Sometimes my buddy brings out his Nikon D200 and some various zoom lenses. Keep in mind that camera + lens can run you over $2k, but the pics it can take are awesome.

I just have a Canon SD 700 IS and it does a pretty good job at getting pics.

you should look into the canon digital rebel xt, and the canon 20D (discontinued-but you could ebay one.)

the XT is newer, and does 3fps, which would be plenty for GREAT sequence shots, and the 20D has a 5fps burst, which would be even better. the only thing with getting a DSLR like the ones i mentioned is the best (most useful focal lengths) for wakeboarding will be in the 70-200mm category. anything less then that will be great for taking overall w2w shots with background, but you will need a lot more reach to get tight frames around the boarder.
