I'm new to both sports and have a few questions, back related. I injured my back last year Motoxing (herniated disk in the lower back). The MRI says it's better but I still feel nerve sensations going down my leg.

Will it be foolish to try either?

Which one (Wakeboarding or Skating) would be easier on the lower back?

Thanks, I am 6'2" and 225lbs if that makes any difference...

Robert

try wakesurfing. no impact whatsoever. but wakeskating would probably be easier on your back.

I don't know. When i was wakeskating my back got much more tired than it ever has wakeboarding. But on the falls you are probably right.

dunno man, id say wakeboarding for riding, is less painful, and wakeskating for fallin is less painful, just dont do anything that will really strain ur back

ive hurt my back a little before and i just know the impact from wakeboarding is a lot worse. if you case the wake or land in the flats youll probably hurt your back again. take it easy for a while, back injuries are serious. there are a lot of important nerves there.
