Here's the thing:
Red Bull sponsors every kind of competition and rider you can imagine in extreme sports. Do they just sell more than I think? It seems like they could sell it to everybody if it was a little cheaper too.
Its great to slam one in the morning before a test, but a college kid can't afford that every day. _________________ Stomp it you little b!tch. - Metzger |

Red Bull and Jager, Jagerbomb I think, is probably where they make most of their money...
Plus they aren't usually the only sponsor...most companies that sponsor something are somehow associated with the event they sponsor and provide their product free. Take a wakeboarding comp, mastercraft/GM provides the boats, Hyperlite, CWB, etc.. provides the boards/bindings, SPY sunglasses may give some glasses away, and Red Bull probably just gives away some Red Bull, which is pretty cheap. The smaller companies might also pay more into the pot since their product is cheaper.

anyone had the new sobe/nofear energy drink... it is 16oz! I haven't tried it yet (i usually drink redbull) but next time i see it im gona have to give it a shot. I have been woundering how they make money too. They give so much away its not even funny. I heard if you pull up next to one of their cars at a light you can motion with your hands you want something to drink and they will give you free ones lol. _________________ www.hyperlite.com

jt09,
I agree with you, $2 for 8oz is expensive. Because they charge that it justifies the rest of the energy drinks to be the same price. _________________ http://www.mutinywake.com

| it's funny taht this comes up. over spring break red bull came to texas ski ranch and was just handing out free red bull. i talked to the people a little and it turns out that their job is to drive around and hand out free red bull. i asked them how does red bull even make a profit. they're hella expensive and they're always giving the stuff out for free. they said that the overseas market is way bigger than the usa and that's where they turn a huge profit. |

They may be losing money in the U.S. right now promoting there product but a lot more people are starting to drink it. 2 years ago people in the U.S. had hardly heard of Redbull now most people at least know what it is. From what derrick lenz said they probably have plenty of money form europe to promote their product here. Eventually they will start making a lot of money here and all their giving away free drinks and sponsering events will have paid off.
Also those Redbull commercials, that i and most people i've talked to think are dumb, are very popular in europe. They're supposed to be like the Budweiser commercials of europe or something. |

I have a friend that drinks "monster" instead of red bull. Sometimes you can find em for buy one get one free. They are 16 oz as well, packed full of go-go juice. I have never tried them, but he sayd it's about like doing some lines, just cheaper. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. I used to drink 3 or 4 cans a night when I was bartending.... now I won't touch the stuff. I think I will just keep rockin' the original, Red Eye (Australian only I think). That stuff is so damn good.... _________________ Terminate high thinking |

Well, Red Bull can afford to sponsor so many events because of the amount of raw sales that they do. Last year, Red Bull sold over $2 billion in beverages worldwide. That is a TON of cash coming in...some of these events like the Wave Bash and the Depth Charge are just a drop in the bucket for them.

Hmmm I read this about the Taurine about two years ago in a serious paper. Suppose it would be better if I was wrong anyway... _________________ WakeLeague Creator and Administrator |

What does it do? Taurine is an amino acid-like compound and a component of bile acids, which are used to help absorb fats and fat-soluble vitamins. Taurine also helps regulate the heart beat, maintain cell membrane stability, and prevent brain cell over-activity.
Where is it found? Taurine is found mostly in meat and fish. Except for infants, the human body is able to make taurine from cysteine—another amino acid.
Hahaha, I guess I'm wrong... Not even close. Someone kick me please! Talking about spreading rumors . _________________ WakeLeague Creator and Administrator |
