Hey can someone tell me if a whirlybird is considered a mobe because it's an invert with a 360 but it's not a handlepass.
And also could someone tell me how to post a video clip on here? |

I would consider ita mobe. But I'm not to sure. To get a video here you need to have it hosted somewhere. wakepics.com is good. Oh yeah and this places image gallery. photos.wakeboarder.com I think. _________________

i have to say it is a mobe,
i've wondered about peoples opinions i've always thought that a raley was an invert, because your board is above your head just a little bit, so is it an invert and if it is as a s-bend or 313 a mobe? |

whirly= NOT a mobe. no handle pass.
313= not a mobe, technically an invert w/ handlepass 3, but most mobes involve roll-type inverts. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002

why would it be considered a mobe? a mobe it a tantum with a handle pass 360. it is also a whirlybird with a handle pass. two different tricks with two different names, so why would you call a whirlybird a mobe if they gave it that name for a reason? _________________ CRAIGkelly.JEFFanderson.TRISTONpicott |

| No dmac a mobe is not just a tantrum with a handle passed 360. Thats called a moby dick but it is a mobe just like a crow mobe is a mobe a KGB is a mobe a pete rose, a dum dum , a slim chance there all mobes . Mobe is not just the name of one trick but some people say a mobe has to be handle passed and some don`t. |

| yeah people use "mobe" to describe dum dums, crowmobe's, moby dicks, kgb's which is why i was wondering if whirly's are part of that group |

| would a crow mobe to blind be considered a true mobe? there is no handle pass but you still rotate a 360. |

Skicross, what kind of boat are you riding behind? The wake looks like the one behind my Whaler. Word up to tiny wakes! _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

| it's a 26' scarab sportster, really big boat, but it has a deep v-hull so the wake is washed out and wide, not tall, what size is your whaler? |

| A whirlybird is a mobe. Mobe is short for "mobius," which means "circle within a circle." The connection of this name to a trick came from trick skiing, and applies when a rider does a complete rotation on two axis (up and down axis, toward and away axis). Therefore, any invert plus a 360 is a mobe, handlepass or not. A whirly, being a tantrum and a blind ole 360, is a mobe. If you consider a raley to be an invert (which I do), then an S-bend and a 313 are both mobes, even though there is technically no complete flip. |

| lukewtwt, i agree, watch out, just don't call any mobe a mobius, becuase a mobius in wakeboarding is a hs backroll with a fs 360. |

whirly is a mobe...handle pass doesnt matter. would you say a wrapped kgb or iron cross isnt a mobe? same rotations as kgbs and moby dicks, but not handle pass...
mobious's are also called heelmobes and backside mobes... _________________ www.Shadrack.com

| absolutely its a mobe. handle pass has nothing to do with it. this is a term wakeboarding has adopted not invented. |

| midwest wake, actually, "mobe" or "mobius" is a generic term. A hs backroll with a frontside 360 is a hs backroll mobius, aka hs back mobe, or just back mobe. Just the name "mobe" does not imply this trick alone, but means the general definition I stated above. The reason most people think of this trick specifically when someone says "mobe" is because the same trick had been done on a trick ski before there was such a thing as wakeboarding. When wakeboarding came along, so did many more trick possibilities, so the general term "mobe" applies to more tricks than just a back mobe. Not hating, just clarifying so that the question is properly answered. |

I'm in the same shitty boat as you guys. I ride a 20' outboard center console bay boat. I put a sack in the back and a single steel bar tower on it. I can do the basic inverts and spins(tanny, bckroll, crow, 5) then I go out on a nice X-30 and all my tricks are wierd and hucked and I realize its because I'm used to rushing my tricks so I get the full rotation in the amount of air time I have. _________________ Slob Gear
