Is anybody using a regular car cd player in their boat? Seems like the marine decks are a little more expensive, but are they really better...

Car stereo in some type of waterproof enclosure, If the boat doesn't already have one. _________________ I have gone to great lengths to expand my threshold for pain. |

| Well all the hype about water proofing is good but if your boat is going threw some big swells a cd will jump no matter what. The best way to go is a CD changer. I do not have on yet but after hearing all the skipping I usually just turn on the radio why crusing around the lake just checking out the sights. |

I appreciate all the replys. My Clarion marine cd deck stopped working last summer. I didn't know if marine decks were made to handle harsher conditions, ie, humidity, shock. I'll probably just put a car cd player in and make sure the cover is down at all times.

We also use an mp3 car stereo...definitely the way to go...You save money, and still get just as good of a deck...I would invest in a waterproof housing though...Not sure but I think they go for about $30 at www.overtons.com _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

| Car stereo. Just make sure the guy controlling it didn't just get out of the water or hasn't been drinking all day and tries to change the controls with a beer in his hand. |
