First, I would like to say that wetsuit is amazing.
Second, I think the trick your trying is a backroll.
Check out this link.. http://test.waketrix.com/view_clip.php?id=108 it should help you out... |

Why are letting go of the rope so early??? from what i have learned about the trick alot of it you use the line tension to lean against during the flip and with out the lean or tension this practice session will feel nothing like the real flip and you wont be on the same axis as you would when you hold on to the rope. if your going to try this trick and let go let go after your board touches the water or just man up and do it son. _________________

Wetsuit, board and water are three out of four things amazing in this video. But, the most amazing thing is that you're attempting a TS backroll from your HS edge. If you look at that video kriggs posted and agree that's what you're attempting, you cannot do it without the rope. I really don't see the point of letting go to begin with. The rope is the only reason your able to do these kinds of tricks, or any tricks. _________________

| after watching the last few attempts a few times to make out what you were doing, it seems that you are trying a tantrum but it seems like a ts backroll, like Christobull said, because you are completely perpendicular to the boat and rope (facing the boat). your main problem, besides letting go of the rope (youll just have to make yourself do that), is that you should be in line with the rope and boat when you hit the wake. that is the only way you can get the trip motion and have the right rotation for the flip. for a full instructional youll have to go to wakeworld or waketrix, theyll give you all the info you want. but i hope my explanation helped some and keep going for it, you'll just get better. |

Learnwake has the best instruction IMO... well worth the money and you can cancel it off season too so your not payng for a worthless subscription. _________________

Why are you letting go of the rope? Only time I let go of the rope is when It's dragging me on the water.
And for gods sake get a better camera man. I've seen worse. But That was brinking on the point of unwatchable. This whole new youtube generation needs to heed these words.
The worst are the video where something crazy happens and the camera guy faces the camera to the ground during all the aftermath, Like WTF. |

Enygma, don't forget telling the cameraman to shut up too. Not so much in his video, but that will drive you nuts. _________________

| It seems like you are releasing the rope before you even reach the wake. That's why you don't get a lot of air. You look good at flipping though. Try at least holding on to the rope until you get the pop from the wake. But then again, I've never landed a backroll myself, yet, so good luck. |

i was def throwing the rope away before hitting the wake. i didnt want my shoulder to get pulled out or anything while i was first trying to invert, i wanted to make sure i had an idea of what i was supposed to do first. i'm prbly doing something totally different but at least i broke my invert cherry.
thanks for the waketrix link. i have checked out learnwake but havent tried it officially or anything. i remember finding waketrix a long time ago on youtube but then lost it.
not knowing, i was just trying to do a traditional trampoline backflip with a board on my feet. if my axis of rotation differs a bit from the waketrix vid, will the board typically come back around underneath me?
as for the camera (wo)man, i'm just happy someone is willing to take a video. i always end up with lots of pics and video of everybody else and not myself. its a lot to ask for someone to hold a camera instead of a beer.
whats wrong with my wetsuit? would a pink one be better? haha |

turbohoje, was that the right trick? You can do a YouTube search and find the Relentless Energy one, but it's not as informative. _________________

Nothings wrong with the wetsuit, but yes, a pink one would be better for the videos you post on the internet. _________________

LOOKS like id work on basics before the backroll
your cut in is no good. the opposite of a progressive edge.
i think i watched 3 cuts and you cut WAY out, then lean into your edge HARD right away and then halfway in you lay OFF your edge and coast in.
id work on that first. will help your riding progress alot faster in the future.
i know nothing about backrolls got no help for ya there _________________

you are letting go of the rope which is causing you to come around switch when you start to flip, which is making you do a roll to revert type thing but with the 180 really early. also when you let go like that your completly missing the good part of the wake and drifting back to the washed out part.
i did this too when i tried my first inverts, but you know, i was 8. |

thanks for the advice
i'm hopefully going to try a learnwake style backroll today while holding the rope. i was not holding a progressive edge bec i was expecting to throw the rope away but was attempting to make speed before hitting the wake, not right up to it.
does it feel like i'll be rolling over my behind leg, then turing it into a front flip under the rope (as in i'm following my way around the rope)? thats what it kindof looks like to me. |

turbohoje, it took me a minute, but I realize that you're describing a Mexican backroll (or an ugly backroll). You should be doing a reverse cartwheel style rotation, tip over tail flip. If you do it the other way, you can't spot your landing as easy. _________________

WilsonH, It looks like a TS backroll on your HS flipping forward over your toes. Lets you do different types of grabs. _________________

| Dude you pretty much have it just hold onto the rope and hold it close to your waist and you'll land it. |

You need to throw the roll over your back shoulder instead of straight back.
.... and keep the rope. _________________ "And slowly the sheep turned to eacher and glared silently" |
