I did it for a couple of years, but it can be a pain in the butt to process, they usually reduce your calculated refund, and I've decided that for me it isn't worth it. Two years ago I think I got a total of $18 back combined from NC and VA.

In texas you can get refunded for all the gas you use OFF highway. So you can get a good amount back if if you burn a bunch of boat fuel.

I do it in TX also. Easy to keep track of and process.

That's crazy. I'd get a bunch of money back for all the money me and my boys put thru out dirtbikes!, In addition to the boat of course... Too bad SC isn't on the list Sad

In Texas it's not a "tax write off" it's a tax refund and should not be confused with filing a deduction with income tax. It's simply a fuel tax refund that is filed with the Texas Comptroller's Office. It's 20 cents per gallon.
