I did it for a couple of years, but it can be a pain in the butt to process, they usually reduce your calculated refund, and I've decided that for me it isn't worth it. Two years ago I think I got a total of $18 back combined from NC and VA. _________________

In texas you can get refunded for all the gas you use OFF highway. So you can get a good amount back if if you burn a bunch of boat fuel. _________________ Wakeskating

I do it in TX also. Easy to keep track of and process. _________________ Troy

Wish I would have seen this earlier, already filed and not motivated enough to amend. Thanks for the link though! _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

| In Texas it's not a "tax write off" it's a tax refund and should not be confused with filing a deduction with income tax. It's simply a fuel tax refund that is filed with the Texas Comptroller's Office. It's 20 cents per gallon. |
