| Brand new '06 Centurion Avalanche. Not only is it incredibly easier to turn right than left, but the boat will turn right on its own if I let go of the wheel. Is this normal? |

| yes it is normal, i believe it is an issue with the ease to drive a straight line as well as i know that with i/o it is a safety issue, if the driver ever gets tossed from a the boat it will go in a circle. |

| Most I/O have a trim tab just above the propeller that you can ajust to get it to track a little better. |

| Forgive my newbness, but since the Avalanche is a V-Drive I thought it was not an I/O? |

I thought it had to do with the rotation direction of the prop, which leans the boat to the right, with causes the boat to track right.
To my understanding this goes away with a dual outdrive / counterrotating prop... |

That's right. It is a matter of physics. Airplanes and helicopters face the same issues, and must also input some steering control to counteract it. _________________

I have a 2004 Avalanche that pulls to the right. I've been told this can be corrected by grinding material off the left side of the trailing edge of the rudder. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to try it in June. I was also told to be CAREFUL -- take off small amounts and test the reaction before grinding too far. _________________ If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! |

| I woulnd't go grinding anything off of a prop. It could lead to a vibrations that could throw your shaft out of allignment. pet575 is right. It's simple phyics. Equal but opposite reaction. Your prop and shaft are spinning one way and that torque will want to pull your boat the other. |

That's true, but Hangtime said "rudder" not "prop" |

Reading comprehension is too overrated anyway in my book. |
