fleet farm has tsunami pumps for livewells, for only $25 works like a charm. just get a few adapters for hose and connections and your in business.

I made one a few years ago. I used a 1200 gph Rule pump and some clamps and fittings from Home Depot. When it was all said and done I spent around $40, BUT my homemade pump pumped much faster than the typical yellow Mayfair fat sac pump that you buy for $69. Although technically both pumps were around the same gph, I used a wider diameter hose on my pump which seemed to inccrease the flow.

To me, this is still the way to go...yeah I'm sure you could gin up something from HD parts and a bilge pump but hey, these things are pretty cheap and if you watch your hose sizes, fairly effective...I get fill times under 3 minutes...
