quick question.. When shopping for a used boat from a private party and I want the boat taken to a machanic to be inspected to make sure all is ok what does the mechanic go threw. Compression and what else? also what is a good compression for a 00 xstar?

*EDIT* Sorry, half asleep, read everything wrong.

Should all be around 190~. Depends on motor, go to your local MC dealer and they should have a chart they will use.

he means like a compression test, I'm pretty sure it's measured in psi or something. the mechanic should know what it should be and if he doesn't then I wouldn't be dealing with him. but i understand just wanting to know before hand, I really don't know but it's probably about the same as any 5 year old small blcok of the same make. and it's important that they are all consistent with oneanother. like its better to have them all i tiny bit low as oposed to 6 perfect and two way below them, etc.

they should be able to give you info on how many hrs it was driven at certain RPM's so you can see if it was driven real hard too...
