I'm just curious as to how lenient you all are with letting others ride your setup when you are out on the lake? After buying a new '05 setup i'm feeling a little hesitant letting others ride it after having a begginer take a chunk out of my last board due to tension on the rope while trying to get up. _________________ I wish my grass was emo; then it would cut itself |

i welcome people to ride my board. just don't let anyone w/ bigger feet than you use your bindings. also, if the board breaks, that's what warranty is for.

| Same thing happened to me. The day after I bought my first setup, my buddy slid out heelside and the handle put a big hole in the top sheet of the board. When I got my '04 setup, I was a little hesitant initially but I reminded myself that a little board is not worth being a d!ck to your friends over. My equipment, along with my dad's boat, is pretty much the only equipment my crew has. |

| Yah I let people ride my board im just more careful on what goes on when the they have it on thier feet. I let a buddy dock start and he jumped too early and scraped the bottom of my new board on the rocky bottom lake.....i had no one to blame but myself.....im so stupid, stupid stupid stupid. |

You break, you buy. People have to realize this isn't a cheap sport and that they have to take responsibility for their actions. Let it be known before you let someone use your stuff.
Oh, BTW, I have no problem letting someone use my setup. _________________

A beginner put an nice gash in my board and a matching one in the boat.
I don't let other people except for my wife and one other person use my "good" gear. But I do have an older board that I rarely ride mounted with older bindings that I let anybody use. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I'm careful about it. I wont let anyone alter my setup because it is milimetre perfect for me and not many people can handle the parks. People seem to enjoy having a 5 minute play on it before deciding that its too angry for them hehe. _________________

| I have the big feet, so I not too worried about anyone messing stretching my bindings. I will pretty much let anyone take my board out for a spin. |

I actually managed to get a beginner up and riding yesterday before I went out on my 04 Parks setup from last season. Im wondering if a rider grew up only knowing how a really aggressive/high pop board handled (for instance, learning on a Parks) if they would be better off in the long run.
One of the biggest challenges moving to a Parks is getting used to the rails and having to keep it on an edge to stop it going crazy through how unbalanced the board is. If they knew nothing else and didnt have to adapt at all a beginner rider would be insane once they learnt it. _________________

I used to be more anal about people using my board but still let people use it - just didn't offer it up, but now I really do not care and will let anybody use it with same or smaller feet than mine. If someone has bigger feet, I have an old 'boat' board they can use if they don't have their own equip.
Anybody that wants to try, can use our surf board and wakeskate. Heck I let some friends on the lake come up my yard and borrow my surfboard anytime they want and have had zero probs. Now my boat, no one gets to borrow that! |

| I used to let my friends use my setup. It kinda sucked because my friend with huge feet stretched out my ultra suctions a little bit. This year I got a new setup so im gonna make the old premier with the ultra's the "boat" board and keep the new stuff all to myself. |

After having a brand new set up dinged by a guest a few years ago, I now keep a guest board around if anyone "boardless" is coming out with us. My set up is for my feet only! That is, unless an experienced rider is wanting to demo my board. Then I am more than willing to let them take it for a spin. So basically, no newbies on my set up. They can ride the guest board. _________________ "I'm not a professional wakeboarder, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night". |

I have an ensemble of boards that I carry with me so we always have extras for people to try. As for people riding my board, if they can comfortably cram their foot in my bindings they are welcome to ride it. With lace up bindings I don't really fret people with bigger feet than me using them. If their feet are big enough to stretch the boots out big time they'll never be able to get their foot in my boots. Plus, I already have chronic bad ankles and no bindings are going to be 100% comfortable. They are also welcome to put their bindings on my board, or I have a pair of old 30/60s that are big. I know how I like my board setup. I enjoy seeing people who want to try out my board, could be because I'm sponsored by CWB and I'm always wanting to promote them. Actually, I've always been open to letting people ride my board.
So if anyone wants to try a absolute platinum '05, absolute '04 or '03 or transcend '05 you are welcome to come ride.
Does that sound too much like an advertisement?

I've never even had my good board get dinged up by a beginner but I don't let them ride my setup so that's probably why. I have 3 other boards for various sized and skilled riders that they can ride/ding whenever they want. I will let experienced riders give my board/bindings a try any time though. I figure new people don't need an advanced setup anyways. If you're good enough to need my board you're experienced enough not to break it. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

I don't mind my friends using my set-up. My set-up was new for 2004 and most of my friends used it. I'm cool about it. But they know the "you break you buy rule!"
I have a LF Search 143 for begginers with Ultra binginds.
My set-up is a 04 LF Team 139 with 04 HL Park bindings. |

Yeah, tension built in the line and the rider didn't let go of the rope he just kept getting towed through the water then finally the rope sprung out of his hands toward the boat hitting the wakeboard. _________________ I wish my grass was emo; then it would cut itself |

| Would you guys consider a LF Trip 138 a beginner board, or would you consider that learning on an advanced set up. I started out riding a LF Trip with Ultra Sucs |

I'm more than happy to let people use my gear. It's just a board, nothing major.
Of course no one ever wants to use my stuff because they can never get their feet out of my bindings |

| I have my board, then the boat board that i let all of my friends use. I would let other people use mine, but my parents simply won't trust my friends to use my board, which they paid for.. so i really can't argue. I just let the newbies use my older board, which seems to work out fine for them. |

I let others use my board. I got adjustable bindings in part so anyone could use it. Once I get another board, I'll keep this one to teach others on - but I'd still let someone ride the new one. Might make sure they knew what they were doing first.
nickdakoolkat, how did you like the motive? Is it really just for beginners/recreational? I was thinking about it when I got my first board. I might buy another in a year or so, but will probably never progress to advanced tricks (so I don't think I need a "pro"/advanced board.) |
