I would definitely still be riding mine if the stupid fins didn't fall out every other time out. I loved that board.

I also rode the board last year, at the end of the season i switched to the substance.

Trip is a great board to learn on and even for the intermediate riders..

I have two of them, from '99 and '00. My wife rides one and I still ride one on sliders and on the wake sometimes. It's one of the best boards and can accomodate all skill levels, IMO.

That's my daily rider. I really like it, and as long as it hold up, I'll probably keep riding it. The side fins are a nuissance when they break, but I try to baby them and we get along well.
It could also be cuz I can't afford to buy another new board...

No sliders for me, no place around here that allows them. Crying or Very sad
Maybe just from riding it so much. The inserts have worn off inside the fins. But with a little super glue and locktite, all was back to normal. I did have to buy a set of replacements, because one fell off in the water before I knew they were coming loose.

Yes if you tighten the side fins really down they will break they are only made of a weak plastic with one screw insert. When I rode the trip my friend had the team and he had that problem because he would always tighten them too tight, i kept mine snug and never had a problem, thats until i hit owc.
peace

I used to ride the original trip and it's one of my favorite boards of all time. The ride was especially sweet when I removed the center fin. She's one of those timeless shapes, alright...

Honestly, if you're riding a LF board, you may well be riding a progression of the trip. A lot of the range is based of that shape, esp, the Balance and the Subjekt.

I switched from my 04 Trip 138 to an 04 ERA 135. I liked the Trip, but the ERA holds better, gives better pop, and is faster. I kept the trip for friends who want to try to ride. They get a pretty sweet setup 04 trip with 04 Alpha's.

Josh R-Agreed.

Furthermore, I think it was the first board that was a true, dual tri-fin board. Think of all the boards (all companies) now that are useing dual tri-fin set ups. Most are molded side fins these days, but the premise is the same.

I ride the O5 Trip, such a sweet board. I originally learnt to ride on the trip and I found it fine to learn on.
