I need help getting more pop/height. Current boat is a 07 vlx, we ride full ballast and wedge. I ride 60 feet with handle at around 20.5 mph..Somtimes i feel like its had to get pop....maybe too slow or too short of a rope?

just increase the rope length next time and see if you like the wake better...its really all trial and error with rope length

usually i can go big. Higher than tower grabs. Dialing eveything in. But this....its embarassing to post such a bad indy tantrum. Although the second i threw was alot bigger. I just dont get this spot your landing, Its hard to commit to looking over yourself. A little spooky.

Might want to speed it up to about 22.5 and let the rope out 10'. It'll firm up the wake, and put you back at a steeper spot. We rode my v-ride (I know it's a differnent hull than the new vlx) and the wake was much much better faster and further back. Craig rode @ 25.5 and 80' with the handle.

Yea ill try it. Around 70 and 22. Umm i need some tips on spotting it. I can do spotted backflips on tramps but on tantrums I seem to tuck my head, ive landed 4 or so now. Blind.

i was riding a vlx this weekend, no ballast or wedge but 9 people in the boat and the wake was massive!!
however at 22mph i felt it very slow, i was more comfortable at 24ish
try bumping the speed up and ride at 70'
i was riding at 75 on sylvan and still running into the flats with ease
oh 1 more thing
in my wake magazine they say on a tantrum indy to not reach for the board, but bring the board to you, meaning tuck ur knee's in and grab the board this will also speed up your rotation, making more time to spot the landing
ive got my tantrums dialed in to a T, if u ever need a 3rd rider ide be happy to pitch some gas and we can spend a day feedin some truck tips off eachother

yeah give that a try i know exactly what ur talking about, yesterday riding even at 22 i wasnt getting the pop i wanted and my tantrums were really "forced" rather then comming naturally
24 was MUCH better, felt a lot firmer and i just rocked it
just for the record, when i competed at wakestock their malibu's were riding us at 26mph with 2000lbs of ballast!

I think my perfect pass on my vlx may be slow, but I set it at 24.5 and use 80 feet of line...the wakes are a bit wide, but it saves the knees when you're going big, cause it gives you a nice landing zone for bigger jumps. I think the biggest thing on indy tantrums is timing and rotation speed, cause you rotate faster when you grab it. It's just a matter of trial and error. it takes a few tires, because you'll keep over-rotating, but once you get it down you'll probably never fall on another one.

| I know each boat is different but my friend and I ride back and forth between my boat (07 22SSV) and his (05 VLX) and his PP is a solid 1-2 mph slower than my boat. I don't know if mine's too fast or his is too slow but I ride at 22.6 and 75 behind mine and have to ride 23.5-24mph behind his for it to feel the same,

I think the helmet might be slowing your rotation down some
