Hi,
I've been building my own kiteboards for about 7 years now, and I recently came up with an idea to adjust the stiffness and rocker of the kiteboard very easily on the fly. I primarily use it to adjust the board to suit to wave and wind conditions each day I ride.

It has been many years since I've wakeboarded, and I am not sure how board stiffness and rockerline play into a wakeboards characteristics so I thought I just post here to get some feedback.

Would adjustability of the stiffness or rockerline be a good thing for a wakeboard? Watch the video on the attached webpage to quickly see how it works, and keep in mind that it can be set up to adjust stiffness instead of rockerline. Let me know what you think!

Cheers

Interesting concept. I couldn't guess as to what effect it would have on the wake. Slingshot utilizes a more flexible core but I haven't used one yet. I would imagine this would respond like theirs but might have some advantages. Give it a try. See if you can get some experienced wakeboarders on it and see what they think.

Nice to see people pushing technology.

Looks pretty trick but I worry that with the two mounting points just inside the sandles the rocker will end up more like a backwards sort of three stage rocker. With two flat parts on the end and a continuous rocker in the middle of the board. Not really sure how that would affect the riding of the board. I could see a sort of cable extension with a solid mount in the middle to curve the ends but not the middle of the board to give you an adjustable 3 stage rocker, or just the same idea with the mounting points moved out to give you a solid continuous rocker. Either way I'd definantly say try and make one and see if you can get some strong riders to test it out and see what they think. Smile
