Just got an 07 Shane setup.

I just wanted those who are thinking about getting an 07 Shane setup what my first impression was. First of all, I had an 06 setup, so I knew what I was getting into. The board, of course, is the same as last year's with new graphics. I'm stoked that the board is a dark color b/c it won't stain a easily. I also like the matte black finish on the top.

The bindings appear to be greatly improved. The new exterior material appears to be much more durable than what my 06's were made of. The first time I tried the new bindings on, I noticed that they seemed to have less pinching points than my old ones did. Overall, the best new modification is that the holders for the magnetic ends of the cinch laces (which are shorter than before) were moved up to the top of the boots. I can't tell you how many times the laces on my old boots either came out of their holders because the laces were dragging in the water or got tangled under the heel of the boots after a hard fall.

FYI, I picked up a setup at a local shop for a killer deal. However, a sale rep for www.grizzley-sports.com offered me same setup (with regular edition bindings) for not much over $500 shipped.

Congrats and enjoy. I broke my Shane board in half a few weeks ago. Yesterday I was down at the shop where I dropped it off to send it in and they had another cracked Shane sitting right next to mine. I loved it though.

I'm going to demo a Shane today actually. Taking out a Shane 140 and a Byerly 142 (56"). Good to read your positive review although I don't need bindings. Why did you buy an '07 when you already have an '06?

I got a new one because I got a killer deal on a package price and I had a friend who needed a complete setup and bought my old one.

Those are the best looking bindings out. I have a pair on my 06 J-Star empire, which i use as a slider board. They match the bright green plastic rail on the board, and it's pretty sick looking. IMO, it's the best looking setup in wakeboarding today

02lightning, well, now you have the undisputed best-looking board in wakeboarding, I snapped my Jstar in half last weekend. But I did demo a shane behind my boat this weekend, and loved it, so I might be back up in the rankings soon with a setup just like yours.

Or I may wait and get the 08 (looks pretty cool) and put some 08 cell's on it, they look like this years with silver mesh instead of the gold, and would look mad Stee on that 08 shane.
