alright these videos are from a couple days ago. 1 day it was storming, the other perfectly sunny (my dad lives on a lake so i can go whenever im free thats why i went while it was storming) but its just a regular speed boat with a tow about 1/2 ft above the water. if you have any coments on my form please tell me. i wasnt w2w on these videos but after we stoped filming i could w2w 3 out of 4 times. thanks for your replies.

Well I'm no expert at all, but it looked ok, you were going crazy though, you got some balls to just go for inverts, 360's, etc like that It does seem you need some more speed and pop to clear that wake, keep edging through the wake and go for it
Entertaining to say the least macdaddy _________________ Scott Goldsmith

First suggestion would be to take a wider cut away from the wake. A lot wider. When you come at the wake you are only about 15 feet away from it. You should really be about 25 feet away from the wake. That extra ten feet will allow you to take a much more agressive edge towards the wake. Cut as far away from the wake then slowly roll into the cut towards the edge and then lean against the rope with the handle down towards your hip and dig that edge in. Also i suggest some fat sacks. That wake looks really small.
How fast are you going? If you are going 20mph or so step it up to 22mph. Might help _________________ check it out http://www.wakesiderides.com/rides/index.php?page=out&id=1562 |

yeah its just a regular ski boat. i can hit some wakeboard boats wakes that are passing and get just as much air as i can off of my dads boat. im on a 65ft rope right now and i was planning to go up to 75 next time i go out so cutting wider would be easier for me, and ill deffinatly try the speed thing. _________________ sh1t happens when you party naked |

That wake looked kinda small. Is it a tournament ski boat i.e. mastercraft, ski nautique? You almost had one of those tanty's. You really should take a wider cut likewakeboardin2k4 suggested. Good luck. _________________ 04 LF Trip 133

macdaddy07, you're doing very well. You've got the progressive edge technique dialed and the height you're getting is quite impressive.
Like everyone else is saying: Get yourself a stronger cut away from the wake so that you can come in with some more speed. And also to try speeding the boat up a mile an hour or two
You could try trimming the boat up a little more to try and clean up the wake wash.
Keep it up! _________________ Wake Forest University |

Good luck. | i belive its a searay, and either 21-22ft the wake is small ill agree, but its better than trying to wakeboard off a jon boat right? im waiting for the weather to clear up right now and then ill go out and try what yall have been saying, if it stops raining 100% ill bring the video camera. _________________ sh1t happens when you party naked |

so i went out last night, the boat was FULL of water so it about doubled the size of the wake. also i added 10ft of rope so i was at 75 ft instead of 65. pushed my speed up to 22-23 which i now love. i imediatly hated how soft the water was when i went down to 20 to try a 360. i was jumping w2w almost always, but i wouldnt get as much air every time. _________________ sh1t happens when you party naked |

Clean your wake up a bit, it's too washed. Trimming might do the trick and you may have to play with rope length a bit, but that should help quite a bit.
Your double up was turned the wrong way.
Fianlly, TOESIDE or SWITCH what wrong with your port side wake? You haven't mastered HS yet so don't try and get ahead of yourself. There's no reason to keep firing off one wake HS jumps. Use BOTH wakes. _________________

Yeah im in the sames situation as you man, I have a 88 MasterCraft Pro-Star. Its designed to produce a gentle wake with a very rounded top, its meant for skiers. I have adjusted to it enough and manage to get the w2w no problem, Im working on backrolls right now.. Your doing tandrums in your video... Are those easier to learn than backrolls ?
When you cut hard outside the wake dont cut in right away (you probably already knew this) because you want the rope to tighten up , then start a hard edge.
** Im a newb to the forums and wakeboarding terms, but what does everyone mean by "trimming" |

1fast300z, trim is what comes on Inboard/Outboard boats like SeaRay's and Bayliner... What trim does is tilt the angle of the outboard so that the bow can lift higher into to the air (trim up) or lower (trim down). Trimming up usually increases the height of the wake.
With boats like mastercraft, malibu, and your typical ski boat, it's a complete inboard with no outside motor so you cant trim anything. So trimming isnt really a wakeboarding term... just a boat term. _________________ Wake Forest University |
