Maybe get the handle pass down by cutting hard into the flats heelside then spinning around backside to switch?
I learned that first and it made them a lot easier _________________ Zach |

Passing the handle under your knees tends to keep you on axis and whatnot. My best advice is just learn the blind landings. Take it first our in the flats, level off then throw the bs 180. Once you have those consistent and comfortable, take it inside out. Then throw that mofo wake to wake and impress the ladies.
This is an easy trick to lose, so once you have it keep pounding it and keep it consistent.
Good luck, and get videos because I <3 catching the backside edge |

Passing teh handle under your knees does keep you on axis as colefooter, said but you will probably find this too difficult when learning.
Always make sure you land heavily on your toeside edge! |

Get the Ollie BS 180 down pat before you move on. You need to be comfortable with the landing and rotation. A lot of people over-rotate it or get pulled off axis.
Look at the shore not the water when you are landing and it helps to pass the handle under your butt.
I really struggled taking this trick wake to wake (more-so than my first invert) but I have it down pretty consistently now and I love it. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| I cant figure this trick out either. Ive landed TS BS 180s, ollie HS BS 180s, inside out HS BS 180s, and HS BS 3s w2w but cant land that stupid HS BS 180 w2w. I always land then overrotate/slide out the back. |

| Pop, spot the landing(keep yourself on axis), then pass the handle at the last possible second. Works for me. |

| yea I tend to overotate the spin a whole lot and that never ends up well. so practice small and work your way up. |

This trick is in fact not "simple" but actually in my opinion quite a technical trick as im sure some would agree. Right as some say learn the bunnyhop blind first.
I am a bit confused about the issue of over rotating but going backwards? on the rare occasion off the double up where i have over rotated i end up out the front. Usually problems come from an early spin. Basically the later the better and i have found its fine to look at the wake were you are going to land. Always go wake to wake no further for now. If you dont have the handle tight in the small of your back it will also pull you out of position.
If i were teaching you i would just tell you to pop wake to wake. give you a focus point behind you for your landing and spin LATE.
good luck |

not sure what other people said, but here's how i learned them.
do the bs 180 going from the inside of the wake to out. have the boat go at a slower speed for a while until you are comfortable doing them. once you have them pretty good, have the boat speed up to normal riding speed. do the same thing, inside to out. land on the downside of the wake now and do those until you are confident for the wake-to-wake. then, just start doing the full trick.
i learened how to do a backside 180 in about, 20 minutes from doing that. i think (not 100% positive) i landed a tantrum 2 blind the same week i learned bs 180's.
good luck.
LFADAM, just do more in-to-outs, but pop off the wake a lot more. jump really hard to get enough air to "simulate" going wake-to-wake height. just get more comfortable doing what i said above ^ and you'll have them. |
