I ride behind a ski boat which has a 3 blade propeller and really want some more air to start learning flips. We can't put a pole in because the boat would tip over when we start, so would a 4 blade propeller help?

4 blades do pull more out of the hole, you might lose some top end but if you are wakeboarding that shouldn't matter to you...

Not sure what type of boat you have but I put a OJ-4 Force on my old ski boat with great results. I was able to hold speed much better and could pull people out of the hole with less juice.

Just a tip, you wont get more air just by riding with a high pole, you still need a good progressive edge, a longer rope length and a decent wake.....

Yeah, well it's an old outboard and I need to have the rope fairly short to get a good enough wake.

So in that case, the short rope will limit to how high you can go even with a pole....

a 4 blade only helps with how well the boat holds speed and the rooster spray it kicks up, otherwise, the wake will be the same, because the hull of the boat is what causes the wake, therefore the only way a 4 blade will help is if you add let's say 500-1000 lbs of weight, and the 4 blade merely helps with the drivability of the boat. Just my 2 cents though.

I'm not sure how having an older inboard implies that you have to keep your rope short to have the sweet wake?

and what do you mean about a pole tipping over your boat? Did I read that correctly?

a different prop isn't going to make your wake any different in itself, as was already stated.

My boat is pretty small, so how else would I make the wake bigger? Also sunrise, when we start the front gets into the air, so a wakeboard pole would make it worse.

Props don't make your wake bigger.

wakeboarder, what kind of boat do you have? You know its normal for the front end to rise on take off, I seriously doubt that a pylon would make your boat tip over!

The only way to make your wake bigger is to add weight. Then a 4-blade prop might help with hole shot and speed consistency.
