That's a great looking wake for wakesurfing. Is it clean on the other side too? My Tige 20v also puts out a really decent wakesurfing wake but the shape is different than that. This pic was taken Saturday morning.

James was just messing around. He's actually a great surfer so he was excited to try out wakesurfing. He can't wakeboard since he has a partially torn MCL and this was his only chance to get in the water.

The end of last summer put me on the injured reserve list and I had not planned on any kind of boarding that day…but damn glad to get out there and it is true…. I did not give a “shizzle” …. as you can see I was happy to get behind the boat...

You will likely see me from time to time wearing my khakis…and I will proudly support all Khaki wearing, “Clydesdale Class” wakeboarders on the lake!

Oh…. And the leather belt.. well, I did think about wearing the birthday suit Wink

Doesn't seem like a good idea with an I/O.

There were some rumors that the Lake Austin Police were stopping people wakesurfing because of the safety issues associated with wakesurfing, we passed sever police and they didnt give us a hard time. Centurion heavily promotes the idea of wakesurfing with all of their boats, The Tsunami is a 30' boat with an I/O but the swin platform extends out about an additional 3 feet for that exact reason

Those pix are sweet man! Does anyone know if you can use a normal surfboard to wakesurf? I wanna try it, but I don't want to buy a wakesurfing board - they're expensive, and it kinda looks like it's get boring after awhile.

Hey texas, How do you start off wakesurfing? I like the looks of that gig for sure..When do you let the rope go? Have you had the board spit out in front and hit the boat? Just a few from the Qs form the rookies.. Rolling Eyes

You can start out like a wakeskate with a very short rope. If you are a real pro you can start with a nose press on the platform and just drop in. Takes a little practice and wipeouts though.

Sorry but we are just rookies too, the pics above were taken on the very first time and first run but as you can see, its easy to pick up. We started out with about 12 feet of rope, The surfboard was a demo we borrowed from a friend. I have seen people using a regular surfboards; I just think the "Wakesurf" boards are a little easier for beginners to dial in with...

Two more weeks to get your entries in 10 grand prize money and so far their only about 5 or 6 pro’s showing up. Armatures will be wining new wake-surfboards, Tower speakers, Tower board racks and other goodies. Besides having a good time, it looks like everyone will have a chance at bring something home.

If you can get a big enough wake, you can use any type of board to wake surf. I've done it with a regular (old school) surfboard and a wakeboard. Do some experimenting to find the speed which throws the biggest wake and the rope length that will put you in the right spot.

Get up like wakeboarding. Once the wake is pushing you enough, throw the rope into the boat.

I would be very careful with an I/O and wouldn't do it at all without having a very good/trustworthy driver.

I use a Shane Smith 6'9" fun shape board, it's a real surf board hand shaped by a local guy up here at Hampton Beach. It is the only thing we have ever used (not cheap either almost $600 bucks), I have yet to try one of those new land locked boards.

We get up surf style, short rope up tight into the sweet spot toss the handle then pop up. The pop up part gets people all the time, it's harder than it looks.

People still stop on the lake to see what we are doing the looks on their faces are priceless.

I just use my wakeboard. I can't keep going without the rope though. Why?

I'm about to give up wakesurfing behind my i/o. Not for swafety reasons, were plenty far behind the prop, but because I cant get a good wake shape. Last firday had a 200# sac in the back and shuffled a boat of 7 around. Couldn't get a wake to curl, except at 17mph and wayyy back Sad
