Had the entire week to board and hit a log. How bad do you think this will be? I can't tell if the shaft is bent. Did not notice any vibration getting back. The rudder is hosed and the strut is bent. Any estimates on what parts might cost. How hard is it to pull rudder and strut? Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

damn that really sucks, if the shaft isnt bent it shouldnt be to bad but that rudder looks nasty. I'd also recommend running a brass prop, in your case it would have saved the driveshaft and the strut but still do rudder damage. if its bad i'd estimate maybe 500 probally more.

Thanks TP83,

Can anyone tell me what is involved in pulling the rudder, strutt and drive shaft. Any special pullers required? Looks as if the drive shaft is possibly not bent. Doesn't look to be that complicated of repair but I've no experiece with pulling a rudder, strutt or drive shaft. I've always taken care of all other issues. Biggest problem looks to be room in making repairs from motor box. If I could fix myself I could pull apart today, order parts and be back in busness by next weekend. I just hate the idea of waiting to get someone to fix it, especially in June!!!

If the strut is bent, so is the shaft. Not fun or cheap. It's happened to me twice now.

This happen to me as well, the shaft was bent as well. Take it to the shop, check with your insurance; mine covered it as an underwater collision.
Mine happen the Friday night before the Fourth of July
