Just wondering if any of you have experienced any problems with your Monster Towers??

I did a lot of research on thme, and heard nothing but good things about Monster, so I just ordered on last week. I installed it this past weekend, and plan on using it this coming weekend, and the following week on vacation.

After I installed it and then posted how great it looks, I then got a response from a member that said he had multiple problems with his Monster tower. He said that the back legs kept moving, and making his tower out of square, and he also had the problem of his boat hull experiencing gelcoat cracking.

I was looking forward to putting this tower to work, but now I'm not so sure??

I would say the member that PM'd you didn't install his tower correctly and also does not check to make sure his bolts are all tight before going out for the day.

He might even have an older tower that did not use the anchor bolts, which are easily added.

Sounds like the guy didn't install correctly. The legs cannot move if bolted up properly and the anchor bolts (yours will have 4 to use) are in place.

If his deck cracked then he dodn't abide by Monster Towers recommendations in the manual.

Thousands of happy owners cannot be wrong

I just installed my monster tower today and got some questions also...
I have an 04 sea ray 180- sport and the back bases are on the side of the boat and when we pull on the tower or whatever the fiberglass flex's outwards... Is this normal and is this strong enough. Also, which ones are the anchor bolts? The two that bolt each base to the boat frame.

Also, when i unbolted the front to lay it down and cross is, the back loop wanted to move and lay flat... Checked the 2 smaller allen screws and they were tight... is this normal...

I've had my Monster for about 6 months now. I'm very happy with it. It is important to check all the nuts and bolts from time to time to make sure everything is tight. As long as you do that, the tower will remain stiff, strong, and silent.

Also, one of my board racks started peeling (poor chrome job). Monster shipped me a polished replacement immediately along with a pre-paid UPS label to ship the old one back.

I can't say enough good things about Monster Tower. Cool Cool Cool

Thanks for all of the responses. I'm leaving this morning for my much needed vacation, and I'll be putting plenty of time on my new Monster tower.

I'll update you when I get back

reddawgman, how thick is the fibreglass on your boat there? It's supposed to be at least 3/8" thick or you need to re-inforce it I believe. I have no idea what sea-rays are like in regards to their construction quality.
