|
|
I just did my first session on these today and I love it! Definitely worth the extra $240 in shipping, duties, and taxes
Vault 139:
The good: The asymmetrical edges really do make a difference - Toeside edging is a lot easier. The tracking is excellent (even without the fins) and landings are a little softer than my old ride (O'Brien Diesel).
The bad: I ride with a goofy stance so unfortunately for me there is no "goofy" graphic setup so you're stuck with riding the board "backwards" as far as graphics go; since the harder edge near the tips is for heelside and the other edge is designed for toeside. Also, it weighs about the same as my old set up, if not more. Maybe Ronix shouldn't have used a metal flake paint
Cabal Bindings:
The good: They are super comfy and easy to stay in. My heel did not slide in and out thanks to those gel kidney things around the ankle. There's kind of a channel for your achilles so there is absolutely no rubbing on that super soft neoprene lining. The kidneys surround your ankle and hug it right into the binding. Mmm mmm. They look really good too.
The bad: They are REALLY tough to get into. Getting your foot past those super soft kidneys gives you a little bit of a workout but it's all worth it in the end. Also, the bindings have these little pockets on the side for the lace clip to go. Unfortunately since the denim on them is black, you CAN NOT see where that damn pocket is. Hell, I can find a g-spot better than that pocket.
There's my review. It's a great board, but I think I probably could have done better for what I paid. In the US it would be significantly cheaper than buying it here so all you folks down in North America's britches, go buy one.
picture of me holding the board looking gangsta soon to follow. _________________

| Great review QNev, I'm betting there are a lot of new and experienced riders alike (some who have already posted about Ronix) who wanted to know exactly how it was. |

That and summer's coming and our igloos are melting.
Nah, our shops are good around where I live, but instead of just the exchange rate for the difference between American and Canadian $$$ on boards, there are duties, taxes, and shipping on top of most stuff. It's hard to find a good board for a decent price. _________________

| i bought the same board and bindings as well and i also agree the board rides great. i think the bindings are pretty good. although, one of the bindings ripped after only about three rides on it. |
