Have the Zues and have had absolutely no issues. They are great bindings. Are yours brand new this year? _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

oshensurfer, judging by his sig line, I would say yes... Knuckle-head. Iron out the details with Derek so we can party like Rockstars on the AM h20!
Anywho, this is a problem on the newer lines of Hinge bindings produced this year. I have spoke with the company, today actually, and they said they will break in over time. When I first got my Zues this year, they were doing it as well for the first few sets. Then once the next trip out, now they never do it. Dont worry, the problem with correct itself with use. However, if you still are unhappy, call them and ask for a new one. The only problem is that one will be broken in, and the other one will be pretty rigid again. _________________

| DCAP, could be just real tight. My Zues hinges after a few uses would become un-hinged. Called them and they told me how to tighten them up. Appartently they were set too loose from the start, and that once they broke in the cable wasn't tight enough. They may have corrected it by tightening them more from the factory, but I bet overtime they will break in. If not, just undo the two side screws holding the cable, then unscrew the cable ends about one turn at the most, and reassemble. There isn't anything complicated to the hinges, so if they don't stay hinged, or won't release, my guess is the cable. |

Sounds like somthing I'd like to deal with on a regular basis. Hinges breaking, having to tighten them, can't get them open. Seems like waaaay too much trouble just so you don't have to take an extra half second to slide your foot into all the new boots that are out there that don't even require slime.
Seems like the hinge technology is just a waste of time. |

I cant even tell you how much of a night and day difference the hinge tech has made for me. My feet are damn near impossible to get into a conventional binding. I would wear myself out getting into a pair of XL sphynx's. Once I finally go in them, the hold down was crap. I fealt like my foot was just swimming around in there. Then getting them back off was even more difficult than putting them on.
With my factions I can run a L instead of XL that way I get the firm hold I want, but I can still get in and out super easily.
If you have a normal foot, you are blessed. Those of us with sasquatch feet will try anything.
Sorry for the threadjack, just wanted to state my opinion on the hinge bashing... _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)

I love mine. I have never had an uncomfortable session in them yet. Even in cold ass water. Don't really need any lube any more either. Snug as a bug in a rug. _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

| There isn't many ways for torqs to mess up. Mine are amazing, and i wouldn't trade them for much. I tried to get into a Large pair of proofs, and i couldn't get in with lube. I have a size 10 too. |

I have yet to hear of the hinge or cable breaking on these bindings, you only should have to set them once, and can't get them open seems to be a matter of not setting them correct. More of the advantage of the hinge comes from the hold down that it allows, than the ease of entry.
nice uninformed post. |

I am such a believer in the hinge boots that I bought 3 pair. I am hard on stuff and they never break. Yea the laces suck but that is an easy fix. The only other complaint I have is when you take a digger and your foot comes half way out of the boot. Damn that sucks. Your foot gets lodged so tight you cannot move the hinge or your feet. The laces have to be pulled if they can be. It takes me forever but overall the 06's are the most durable bindings around. I can't speak for the 07's _________________ My therapist says it is all your fault. |

Hinge boots are the best thing to happen to wakeboarding in years....maybe ever. Many people who have all but given up riding as they can't get in and out of their boots are riding again. I have seen it a ton of times. The beginner/intermediate rider...no brainer. High end rider, the heel lock is un matched.
The only bashers of hinge I have met, which is three, are dealers who don't sell them and have to come up with reasons why to not buy them when every other person walking in the door asks for them. _________________ I had ribs for lunch. |
