yeah ive gotten 2 concussions from "just water" anyways man just go for it, make sure theres some people around to watch so they think your a badass (it will help cofindence some more) and just start throwing inverts. if you got to much of a block on the water start doing them anywhere you can so you get the feeling of flipping and knowing where you are in the air. that also may help, but you just gotta commit to it and go. everyone falls, you just need to go out there and do it.

I tried to throw some tantrums last weekend after being inspired by this thread. I kept my boat at the normal speed and just went for it. I didnt "huck" the handle or anything. I can definitly say none of the falls really hurt at all.

My problem: for some reason my board turns in the air and I almost land switch. Is there a trick to landing tantrums? Im getting enough rotation......

The way I got into inverts was just going out and hitting some rollers and throwing myself upside down...you don't always get all the way around but you quickly realize that most falls from inverts don't hurt all that bad. Once you get up to trying them though, you need to fully commit becuz when you don't commit to a trick those are the falls that hurt

michigan boarder, lol I tried doing like a weird tantrum off a roller and ended up landing dead on between my shoulder blades and I pinched a nerve in my right arm. I think it would be better to just straight hitting your own wake and try throwing a certain technique rather than just going upside down. But your right, you do realize that invert falls dont hurt near as much as you think before hand.

I think its because you cant get a real good consistent pop off rollers. I ride in the intracoastal which is basically a passage from the St. Johns to the ocean where I live and there are always huge boats that pass through. Well there is a guy that all he does is hit the rollers from the big boats because his boat is small and the rollers are huge. Its real sick to watch cause I've never seen anything like it. He does surface stuff until a boat comes by and he just launches off their rollers.

So I finally tried a back roll today for the first time after having gone so many times telling myself I would but never did. I didn't come close to landing on any of the attempts but it still was fun as hell and feels really good to have actually gotten out there and tried it. I tried it right before I was about to end my run. I hadn't fallen that session so I just said to myself well I gotta fall sometime so I might as well do it trying a back roll so I did. After that though I decided to keep going because it got me all excited to do it again lol.
