My father is interested in purchasing a new boat and has been thinking about the b-52 vlx riders edition. I don't know much about them. Have they been in the industry long and will they be around for a long time. How is their craftsmanship etc. also what is the largest board boat available? My father would prefer to get something in the 28-30 foot range but ski boats just don't seem to be built to that level. Thanks.

Those boats are certainly not 28-30 feet! That's HUGE... look into the Centurian Tsunami if you want that! Out of those I'd say go for the VLX or Riders' Edition... Malibu and Tige are more reputable than MB Sports...

personally i'd go with the malibu vlx. i love that wake. but as far as boat length i'd go with the x-30 from mastercraft. i think it's pretty long.

not that, that would me my choice of a wakeboard boat (since I have a 03 nautique on the way) but if it has a pooper in it your dad can write some of it off as a second home. And that pretty sweet

just think of all of the gas you can put in that tsunami... while your filling up the first tank everyone will be puttin in the lake and while you fill the other 45 gallon tank they will trash your butter.... whatever you get will be better than mine though Smile

I checked out the tsunamie by centurian and am extremely intersted in it. I need to know qaulity and craftsmanship etc. Any thing you know about the tsunamie or centurian. It dosn't really seem they cater it too much to wakeboarding. I watched the video and they showed no wake boarding and they barely mention the ballast system and never mention the capacity of the ballast just the fuel tank. How does the wake look? And has anyone ridden behind it. Right now I ride behind a wakesetter vlx running about 2000 lbs. in ballast and would hate to buy a new boat with a worse wake. The reason Im curious about a boat of such large proportions is cause my family likes to use it for takeing friends out and the lake we live on (lake geneva, wi) is damn choppy. I also usually tow my boat to lake of the ozarks for the 4th of july and it just gets killed there by the huge chop. We have to fight to keep it from getting swamped. Thus my interest in a boat as large as this.

The Centurion is a high quality boat but it probably won't have a better wake than the VLX, bigger, but not better. This boat is really not a wakeboard boat, it's 30 ft. and an I/O. It is just something for cruising the lake and has a tower just in case you happen to want to ride.

The 03' Tige 22v and 24v are IN FACT new molds. The deck of the boat is more round and more importantly the bottom of the two boats has changed. On both of the boats Tige filled in the "spray release pockets" at the rear of the boat and angled them down.
This prevents the wake from rolling at nearly any rope length. I rode behind the 20v a couple times last year and I ride at 80 ft. The wake doesn't even roll past where I was at 90ft.
This year Tige changed the 21v and 23v bottoms to be the same as the 20v and it works great. I've gotten the chance to get out behind the 22v this winter and the wake was just as good if not better than the CC, MC, Malibu boats. Sorry that was so long winded...just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

wow those boatsd are not wakeboarding boats if its over 24/25 ft it wont be a wakeboarding boat..Good luck in even being able to be pulled behind this let alone building a good wake..stick to a 24ft boat of he want s a big one ..The Malibu Lsv ,X30. new tige 24ft and maybe the new Nauty 24fter might work..they arent as good as their smaller counterpart but they will be alright to wakeboard behind...

Please talk him out of those huge boats sounds like all he wants is a fountain or scarab boat and slap atower on it ..beware he may like it but you wont Mad
