| seated position. approach the wake with more bend in your knees, stand up in trough. Also, use ollie edge as oposed to progressive edge. |

as a really bad description: wait til u get up in the air after popping and pull with both hands to your back or front hip depending on which way of rotation your doing. you want to either give it a quick "pop" with your arms and wrist to put a little slack in the line or a huge tug on it dependin on which spin or mobe your tryin to accomplish _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

seconded. cut in with your knees bent while in the seated position, as opposed to a raley cut where you cut in with your legs straight |

I have been trying an "ollie" pop for my 3's and it has helped quite a bit.
Basically I cut out 12/15 ft, start to drift in, set my edge, then give a little ollie at the peak of the wake. It feels like I have a little more slack in the rope so it is easier for me to pass the handle. That is my take on it, I am sure some guys have different ideas. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

There are basically 3 types of edging.
1. Progressive - Gradually build edge & line tension as you approach the wake. Edge/Line is at its maximum at the peak of the wake.
2. Trip-Flip - Hard edge way outside the wake, switch edges at wake to initiate flipping motion.
3. Ollie Edge - Take a moderate cut at the wake and maintain the same edge/line tension throughout the cut. Take cut in a "seated" position (knees bent like you're sitting in a chair). At the peak of the wake push down with your back foot...kind of like an ollie on a skate board.
Ollie Edge is all about timing and not taking a very progressive edge. First practice going wake to wake with a non-progressive cut. When you have that down, start focsuing on standing up out of the seated position to a tall position thru the wake. Finally, push off the wake with your back foot to give you that extra straight up pop. |
