it can be used to help remove the grime line on a boat if you have one.

Here is my mix in a 16 oz spray bottle.

About 1 oz Jet Dry
About 2 oz Zip Wax
Rest Vinegear. Mix gently.

Takes off grime, waterspots, dries great, gentle on wax. Real cheap. Smells bad, hard on eyes for overspray.

boarditup, Never thought of using Jet Dry. What color boat do you have.

Mine is all black and I use 50/50 ratio after each dip.

I've always been told that vinegar REMOVES wax. If that is true, how is it "gentle on wax"? Does it not really remove it?

Thanks for the MSDS cliff notes on it! Laughing

Interesting mix. Never would have thought of Jet Dry.

I've been using 1:4 ratio (vinegar:deionized water), but I'm going to bump that up to 1:3 this year because the water spots were not coming off as easily as I'd like.

More MSDS info: vinegar is acetic acid -- which is a weak acid. It can be used safely to clean almost everything on your boat. There are whole books available dedicated to cleaning with vinegar.

Waxes are removed by bases, not acids. The Zip Wax seems to keep the wax fairly fresh.

I had a black boat, now a red, next is dark blue.

This has not been scietifically tested and I will make no warranty. I use it. It works for me.

Anyone else wanna give their 2 cents on wether the vinager solution strips the wax off. It seems to on mine but don't know that much about it.
Also it seems that Vinager, jet Dry, & wax mixture would get a little messy.
