That's pretty cool, although as someone who uses their desktop a lot that seems like it would make it tough to find things. Does it lag like hell? _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

well THAT would explain why Vista recommends like 2gigs of RAM _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

| i bet vista, along with that video background, pulls more system resources than me rendering video in after effects lol. i have vista, but i finally got my xp system to work nearly perfect (knock knock) so i don't want to risk the upgrade, especially since i only have 1 gig of ram. |

| Jensen, I wouldn't run vista with anything less than 2G Ram, but if your gonna do video rendering and DreamScene, 4G or it'll run super slow and take you HOURS to get anything done as far as video goes. |

as long as you have enough ram to support the program, (2gig for anything on vista), then the rendering is going to be capped by the processor. atleast its that way for me with 3dmax/viz/maxwell (all 3d modeling programs that i'd bet are more demanding then dreamscene). |

Alot of the reason vista hogs memory is because it preloads alot of programs and files into memory that you use often. Why not maximize memory usage anyway with a gig of ram only costing 100 bucks... _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |

i tested it on my laptop and was impressed with it. It also seems to stop playing when another app takes the foreground, so it's not running 100% of the time. All in all, I'm impressed with how vista keeps graphical stuff running so well.
Now, the compatibility issues are an entirely different story... |
