ive been boardin for a couple years now and last year was the first behind an actual wakeboarding boat
i now am a regular behind a 91 prostar and the wake is fairly decent with people in the boat.
anyways...i cut out right and i cut into the wake right...and get a crazy amount of pop...but either i lose my balance at the peak of the wake and it messes up my jump...or i get higher than i expect and cant hold on to the rope...
im not sure what the problem is...
also...ive attempted spins but always end up crooked in the air.....
attempted tantrums and it doesnt come anywhere close to one... |

keep the rope close to your hip, should fix the problem
focus on keeping the handle as close to your body as you can |

Handle position is a lot more important than most people think. Might want to just double check and make sure the handle stays low and centered. |

The 1st step is admitting that you have a problem.........
For issues like this, it is best if you can post a video. |

ahh...i dont have video just yet...i want to though..for that very reason...but let me start over
i always hit the wake heelside and i ride goofy...im not confident at all riding switch
i lose my balance on spins....i may be exiting the wake wrong on those....
when i do w2w jumps i tend to let one hand off the rope and by the time i land..the rope gets snatched right out of my hand...
as far as tantrums and what not...im sure only video would explain how ridiculous that looks |

For w2w, the rope getting snatched from you hand is a sure sign that you are NOT doing a progressive edge. You are generating more speed than you are tension and jumping the rope loose. This is usually the 1st stage of trying to go big, without the proper edge... and everyone goes thru it. If you edge properly, you will slowly build up line tension and that tension is constant thru the air. This will also help with the spins...
For spins, you need to reduce line tension a bit to allow for moving the handle. Set a less progressive edge and hold it, you may need to jump a bit at the wake to ensure you still get wake-2-wake, depending on your rope length. This less agressive edge will lower the line tension (and kill some of your pop), but stop you from being pulled over. Also be sure to look away from the boat (and not at your feet) during spins. Be sure that you are leaning slightly away from the boat at all time, this will keep you from landing and hooking your lead edge. Keep your handle as low as you can. Pass your handle as low as you can.
Hope this helps. |

| you might be trying to jump off the wake. Make sure you edge through the wake. |
