|
|
Well I finally decided on a board setup, thanks for all the help to those that gave their opinions.
I ended up with a '06 LF Substance 142 and '06 LF Sphynx bindings, picked them up from Grizzy Sports, the price was amazing, brand new everything and I can't wait to get out on the water. I used the Substance last season with Element bindings (uck, didn't like them) and Mike from Grizzy said the Sphynx are MUCH better than the Elements so this setup should prove to be a lot more enjoyable.
Last season was my first crack at this and now I'm hooked.
What do you guys think of that combo?
****EDIT*****
Pics added, received the setup today!!!! Can't wait till this weekend!!!

I've got those bindings. They are very comfortable, supportive, and are easy to get in and out of and adjust. Enjoy!

I've been riding a Substance for 5 summers now....I love it.
I actually bought an 06 142 just like you. I've got the 07 Shane CT bindings on it.

Congrats again. Everything I've heard about the Sphynx bindings has been nothing but praise for how comfortable they are.
That setup should keep you happy for quite a long time.

Oh I'm sure it will I'm not a pro and don't plan on getting nuts out there, if I can progress to some W2W 180's/360's I would be done I don't have a wakeboat yet so my I/O won't give me the wake I need to go big, so this will last me quite a while
Thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate them!

i love how every binding is supportive now. the sphynx are supposed to be the least supportive, most flexible bindings from lf.

board looks good, my only suggestion would be to crank out the width of your stance...
wide is good.

That stance is shoulder width which is was The Book says to do, I will mess around with it at the lake and see what I like the best. Thanks for the suggestion!

Pooser, shove it. If you knew what I was riding before, you would agree-the old bindings I had were like wearing a pair of sandals. Sorry I don't have time to study every make and model ever manufactured and then run a complex comparison of each them in an Excel spreadsheet. The guy asked what we thought, and I told him what I thought of my personal experience with the exact binding he bought.

No worries guys, I haven't even put these bindings on, but from what I have been told the Sphynx are much better than the Elements I used last season so that's a start I'm sure they will be an improvement and hopefully not cramp up my feet I can't wait to test it out!! I'll be sure to post some pic of my 2" of air I will catch

No worries pooser. We've just had a run of many prickish remarks on here lately when somebody talks. Thought it was a continuation of that, but I guess I was out of line for jumping your case. My bad. I guess there too many of us that are ready to go start the season after a long winter. I'm still waiting on a new wetsuit, so I can't even head over to the cable park that is 20 minutes from my house.
