Title says it all.

Got my '06 Shane Ltds yesterday. There were instructions for the pro-plate (not that it was needed Laughing ) but no explanation about heat molding the liner.

Thanks. Cool

HHI Dave, you don't. ronix and slingshot are the only companies that you need to stick the boots in an oven. your bindings will mold to your feet over time. if you want stick your bindings in a really hot bath and then put them on, this will help mold them faster.

From what I've read and been told, they seem to mold over time.

HHI Dave, They'll mold over time, but they mold much quicker if heated. Don't put them in the oven though, tape the trigger down on a blowdryer on low speed, high heat, and pop it in the binding for 5 minutes. Then wear the binding like a shoe for 10 minutes or so, make sure you flex it around in a similar fashion to how it would be flexed on your board.

jhilly8982, I think Luke might know a little more about it than you, no offence. He does work at a ballin' @$$ store. And to my knowledge shoke the hand of the man who landed two 1080's (Rusty).

Anyways, isnt this the same case as braking in shoes? I mean you wear the bindings for an couple sessions and it molds to your foot, isn't that just like shoes?

LFPIMP, no, heat molding liners are not new to me, even if luke works at a board shop he is going to tell you to use their method because it is the store policy, i have been baking hockey skates for 12 years instead of using the "store method" and i know that a heat molded liner in a wakeboard boot is similar to hockey skates. I also know that before the heat molding hockey skate machines came out that pros and pro equip manager have been baking their skates in an oven for the past 10-15 years.

In fact when you bought a pair of high end hockey skates in the 90's they told you to bake them in your oven

Elysia, are you just gonna sit on your computer and run your mouth to everybody? Almost every thread I look at your startin some type of argument, seriously man...
HHI Dave, the hair dryer or warm water reccomendations work to speed up the molding process but just like said above its not necessarily needed. Enjoy the 06's I've loved mine.

jhilly8982, don't the liners come out of hockey boots? LF and Ronix bindings do not, so the metal grommets around the drain holes will melt the vynil on the overlays if you stick them in the oven at anything over 250F. That's why ronix literature recommends you let your shop mold them rather than sticking them in the oven

Elysia, like i said before, all you do is talk crap and its getting pretty old.

and they advise to not put them in a oven but thats only because theyre afraid some kids gonna f-up his bindings and claim the warranty. i stuck mine in my kitchen oven at 250 for 5 minutes and it works fine. just watch them and make sure they dont melt.

LakeIolaLuke, there are no liners in hockey skates, let alone hockey boots, you can bake them with the chasis and steel blade attached, again, i give wakeboard companies credit for following high performance boots in terms of feet molding. also the first hockey skate baking maching looked like a toaster oven.

P.S. the ronix and LF liner baking machines are an exact copy of the CCM hockey skate molding ovens

bindings might be heat moldable, but everytime i have got my skates molded, at least with grafs, it gets pretty hot. i dont think that wakeboard bindings can take that heat. also, for the ccm machines, your foot goes in the skate and gets baked but i havent seen the ronix oven...
