I would recommend getting some StarBrite Hull cleaner. You can get it at Walmart usually, and pretty cheap. It's a spray and it takes off all of the water lines and stains from the hull. It works like a dream, just spray on, let set a couple of minutes and rinse off. It amazes me everytime I use it, didn't think the boat had that much brown water stuck to it. Then wax the boat. I use Meguires 3 step, a cleaner, a polish, then a wax. Works really well, but time and energy consuming !!! Can be found at Walmart or auto parts stores.

hey Cary,

have you ever used "Ducky", it's a water spot remover as well? Just wondering how it might compare to the StarBrite cleaner you speak of. I use Ducky on mine and it works great, but i'd be open to something not quite as expensive if that StarBrite works just as good.

After waxing, Wax and dry is great for the end of the day. Just spray it on before you wipe down the boat. Gives a nice shine and oh so smooth. Your friends wont even mind doing it, just spray and wipe.

Actually I used Star Bright fiberglass/gel coat restore wax, I found some in my garage I had used on an old faded bass boat, worked great, Its amazing what a good wax job will do......it was in bad need of it, got rid of all the water lines and bottom stains.....

Jeffro,

I have never used it Ducky. By your description it sounds more like for water spots, but the hull cleaner is just that, takes off all old water stains, and cleans my white hull back to a true white.
