Well I can't just make her stay outside, so I threw this together with a bit of help from friends and it keeps all the junk off the boat quite nicely!

I'm honestly a little disappointed, I thought it would be a giant igloo... Oh well there's always next year eh? Laughing

Jokes aside that looks great, hopefully it does well this winter and keeps your 205 safe and sound.

Are you going to put any metal siding/roofing on it? You put a lot of work in that just to throw plastic over the frame.

The uhh... "boss" wanted the whole structure to be removable. Laughing So it's actually bolted and comes apart in sections. We are considering putting a proper roof and siding on, but we'll see about that next year.

OHHH, ya I always run into that same probem when I am building projects. You may have to add some flower boxes to the outside to make it "BOSS" friendly!

I've actually modified it a bit since I put it up to be a bit stronger and a lot tighter. The snow should slide off, but I'll be there to check on it every now and then. And the front is also covered with a tarp now. But you're right, the snow load is definitely something to watch.

Was thinking the same thing. Might want to use some trailer anchors. Large gust of wind and you'll be taking the boat to the shop for some gel coat repair.

oshensurfer, trailer anchors?

Anyway... I think the pics are a little deceptive of how sturdy it actually it. And it's actually tied down with a couple chains.

Long screw spikes. Here's one type. There are several kinds.

Sorry I need to finish my statement. It acts like a parachute on a windy day. I stopped my tarp about 2 feet from the ground. No problems since and no ground anchors just plastic pop bottles half filled with water to weigh the whole thing down.

I should clarify though that the front is closed in too. (you don't see that in the pic.) So the wind goes around it and not in the front. If the front was open like that, then yes I'd be more than nervous.
