|
|
I got a Scape 116 wakeskate last year just to get started. Last summer i only skated a couple times but i could only do ollies pretty much. I want to get more advanced but idk if i need to get a new skate because mine has foam on top and i know that most people use griptape for tricks. Am i able to take off the foam and replace it with grip tape, or do i have to just get a new skate? Which idea would be better for me?
P.S. I'm only 145 pounds and about 5'8" so im thinking i might want a shorter one too?
Thanks for the help! |

i had foam on one of my skates and i ripped it off and put grip tape on it
if you are just doing ollies right now you should keep the one you have now and get a more advanced one later

| boardin24/7-333, some people can land kickflips and such with foam, that is merely preference. Most people do like grip more, but as a beginner it shouldn't make that big of a difference. |

| Really? Cool, yea I guess I haven't seen this year's model yet, but now that I think of it I did see a picture of a skate like that with the catalyst logo, hmmm....bet that was it, haha |

Definitely get a new skate. I had the scape 116 and it is the suck.
Get something shorter, like around a 39"-41" (116cm = 45.7")
Good luck! _________________ ...island style... |
