| It is going to affect my wallet. If it is just me and a friend in the boat the bags will not be filled, but that is more of saving aggravation than gas. As far as frequency, I will continue topping my boat off as if it is $1.20/gal. |

| terrible news on gas prices (among other things) Iran, Syria and Hizbullah are preparing for a possible military confrontation with the United States in the summer, the head of the IDF's Military Intelligence said Sunday. |

jhilly8982, Great, that is just what the gas companies want to hear so they can jack up prices even more.
I dont know about the gas station on your lakes, but we pay more per liter for marked gas, than regular gas |

not sure if i know what marked gas vs. regular gas is but i am sure it all comes from the same place. also i try not to buy gas on the lake cause they mark it up a ton.
wake_board_skate_surf, could you explain what marked vs. regular gas is....and in terms of the gas companies hearing about the possible attacks, i am sure they heard about them alot earlier than i did as i got it off a public website |

this sucks, but we have to run 92 octane fuel in our ride, and gas is already $3.04 for that octane and climbing WEEKLY! My season doesn't start for another 8 weeks! As far as gas going up due to possible attacks, that's just an excuse to make billions each QUARTER! Welcome to the world of a free market. _________________ i have mastered the art of the wipeout. |

I remember price controls and rationing in 1973. No boats allowed. Only 5 gallons in a single container per event. Long lines. Pushing stranded cars off the road. Free market is the only way to go.
Yeah, I'm old and still ride. _________________ Original Boarder from 1983

| WhoUBe, i think this is illegal but you should start buying gas now and storing it in your garage so combat the rising prices. |

Um, I don't think it's illegal, but gasoline doesn't have an incredibly long shelf life. _________________ Get Frugally Green!

I'm wondering what "marked" gas is also. Is that like gas that came from countries that don't want to annihilate us? _________________ Get Frugally Green!

jhilly8982, i don't think it's illegal, but i think it would be more expensive to buy gas and containers than just buying the gas. Tyler T, I don't know how long gas lasts on the shelf, but we used some gas in our atv's last week and that had been sitting for 6 months in temperatures averaging about 15 degrees farenheit, but i see your point. but at this rate i'm considering putting little electric motors on my board and making kickers. _________________ i have mastered the art of the wipeout. |

Craig-R, Word on the street is the last guy that did that went missing... It's the oil companies, man!
wake_board_skate_surf, isn't marked gas agro-gas, and isn't it supposed to be cheaper for them? Crazy.
What would be sweet would be a hydrogen fuel cell but have it fuelled by water. According to grade 8 science 2 years ago, if you run a charge through water, it will react to form hydrogen and oxygen as products. The hydrogen could then be sent to a tank and pressurized somehow and used in the fuel cell.
The problem would be getting a charge into the water and still having enough charge to power the engine from the fuel cell.
The same might be easier with a hydrogen combustion engine.
Diesel boat engines are looking good too. _________________

If they throw down a carbon tax too, we're all going to be royally F___ED!
That law is dumb. Paying a ton of $$ so the government can blow it on crap with no possibility of it fixing the ozone layer and reversing the effects of CO2 is not going to help. _________________

| Marked gas is basicially crappier gas, that comes with a colour marker so that you can see it in the water, its marked specifically for use in filling up boats and back in the day used to be cheaper than regular gas |

wake_board_skate_surf, the color marker is so it stains the inside of fuel tanks, and it's cheaper because there's no roadway tax on it. I'f you're suspected of using marked gas in an on-road vehicle, they'll inspect the inside of your fuel tank and you'll receive a hefty fine. _________________

| Man this is gonna suck. Last year at the peak, it was about 3.50 a gallon at my lake. It costed about 150 dollars to fill the boat. That was rough. If it gets to 4.00 for most of the summer, thats going to be 160+ dollars every few days. Yikes! |

| Last summer at our marina gas reached $4.00. I remember one house boat owner threw a fit for having to pay over $1000 to refill his house boat! |
