|
|
I see the $465 High Five props, and Ive checked out the more affordable hillmarine signature 5 blade for $340. Both appear to be stainless steel. Im wondering if anyone offers a 5 blade design in aluminum. Our cabin is on a shallow creek leading out to the big lake, and we usually trash at least one prop a year. The aluminum shears and bends easily before any driveline damage occours. Stainless will not be so forgiving, and I dont want to have to replace shafts the next time somebody hits a sunken log. Do I have any options? Or should I just stick with a 4 blade?
Thanks,

GuitsBoy, 5 blade? What kind of boat? Runabout?
If it's on an inboard, then get a brass one if you're concerned with drivetrain due to a stainless prop not giving. _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

The hill is shaped different than the High 5. It takes more low end torque to get it spinning, Trust me on this.
I don't know if the blades are cupped more or if the width of them have something to do with it, but it definitely had lag in it compared to the same high 5. _________________

I took a look at mich wheel's website and I only found the 4 blade props. No 5 blade at all, even in stainless. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)
