| thanks for all of the responses, I am really excited about this board, I am graduating from a Obrien Ambush and Blindside Assassin board. I demoed this board, last year and loved it. The 06 Alpha's are so comfy I can ride all day with no cramps or sore spots ont he tops of my feet. I recommend the Alphas to anyone, I picked mine up on EBay for 120 and I picked up the Player for 130 shipped on Ebay. Sweet deals on a sweet ride.

My friend loves his Player. I think his is a 04. He says it's too grippy with the center fin. Good board.

| Very cool! I've always wanter to custom paint a boad myself but don't have an airbrush nor do I want to take the time to learn. Again, that looks great! Any advice on how to paint one?

Nils_Lars, you got some mad steez, did you air brush the skulls, spades, and clubs? Did you use spray paint, or the paint you would use on cars?

Thanks im glad you guys like it was a lunchtime project for me , was trying to keep my mind off boarding season this winter
King of the Tigers, Using an airbrush just makes doing some of the fine work easier like highlights around the flames in orange but you could still paint a board with just rattle cans , id suggest practicing a design on cardboard or plywood.
I used alot of stencils , some that I bought some that I made (could not find the playing card stencils anywhere) the hardest part would be laying out the flames but if you find a design you like online you can just recreate it with fine line tape , just have to lay out the tape over and over till you get the shape you like.
Its easy to tell what it will look like when its done as you go along , it just takes some trial and error.
LFPIMP, I did airbrush them but with a stencil , it helped to be able to spray stuff a small area at a time especially around the curves . I work in a body shop so I have access to free materials as left overs from jobs so ya automotive paint which is not as crucial as automotive clear as a last step.

| Nils_Lars, That looks great, I didnt think you could sand down the top coat of the board, I thought it did something to the integrity of it. I have seen some nice rattle can jobs that actually look good until they get scratched. I used to paint cars in High School, do the same rules apply as far as prep, paint and materials?

The top coat was kinda weird to sand but all I did was to break the clear with some 240 grit so theres no shiny then primer so the rest of your paint sticks good , I dont think its gonna affect the board much other then add a few ounces of weight.
Ya same as painting a car really I would make sure to put on some good automotive clear at the end no matter what you used for paint since its so durable , the problem I had was everything looks big when its on a table right in front of you but when I was done and took a picture of the whole board it all seems to small and I think I made it too busy.
Next time I think larger graphics and simple design would be better , I still have to add the Obrien Player logo and some other gambling themed things I had planned but I didnt add at the time cause we had that warm weather spell and I wanted to ride
