| I am picking one of these soon, and wanted some opinions on the boat. I looked at some Master Crafts and Pro Airs, but they were a little out of my price range. Just looking to see what everyone thinks of the setup I am looking to add some bags to the rear, but I don't know what else. |

| Moomba makes a great boat and you definitely won't be dissapointed with the LSV or their customer service. We love our Mobius. Post some pics when you get it. |

| Why are Moomba's so cheap? I started out looking for a $16K range Nautique or Mastercraft, but I can get a Kanga 4-5 years newer for the same money! Is this thing gonna float? |

| This is directly from Skier's Choice themselves. They said Moombas are cheaper first of all because they don't focus on making the interior with every bell and whistle and detailed out every way possible. They keep it simple and a easy layout. Second reason is their whole marketing strategy is focused on people that can't afford these $40k-$50k wakeboarding boats. They have done really well the past three years, coming in 3rd in sales this past year. |

| They must market mostly in the South 'cause I can't find a Moomba or Moomba dealer within 500 miles of Ohio. Course maybe that's because there isn't a real lake within 500 miles. Any recurring problems or problems getting these things worked on? I don't want to drive to Tennessee to buy for a money pit. |

Yeah-Rick Tinker & Skiers Choice are top notch in customer service. My friend just purchased a Supra and loves it! You can probably find his address on this site in the Membership section. I would think he may be able to get someone in contact with you to answer any questions! _________________ My opinion is my opinion!

| Thanks for the heads up! You can only search for dealers by zip code on Moomba's website and since I don't know any zip codes but my own (some days) I was stumped. I just have to get a little creative. Muncie is much more doable; only about 2-3 hours away. Less driving, more time to board!!!! |

I just bought a Mobius Gravity Games LSV and I think it's a great boat. I've only been able to get out once so far, but the wake without any ballast seemed really nice. The interior is nice and where-else are you going to find a new V-drive for around 30k.
I've heard really good things about Skiers Choice's customer service. I really need to call them about some questions I have. The dealer I bought from (in lower central Michigan) has been a nightmare to deal with. I hope I can get some answers from Skiers Choice cause their dealers are horrible, so far. |

OHHTHATHURT,
If you are near the Michigan / Ohio border give Club Royale a call for a new or used Moomba. We just bought an '03 Outback LS from Rob. He's a good guy and sells only Supra and Moomba. They are located in Waterford MI on Elizibeth Lake. Phone number is (248) 681-9100. Waterford is about 1 1/2 hours from Toledo. Happy hunting. Great boats, incredible customer service. _________________ Jeff |

| this guy that works on boats just told me the moombas exterior the actual boat part was not as good as master craft or natiques, he told me that the moobas are cheaply made and have been know to crack or split if the hit something. i think he was just trying to get me to buy a mastercraft, i think you would have to realy hit something hard to have that happen. I was just wondering if any one else knew anything else about it before i go buy one. |

| yeah, I've heard about a hull on a moomba cracking a while back but that was on a older model. I'm sure they have fixed the problem if there was one. |

| I just had a Nautique dealer tell me that if you hit the side of anything but a Nautique with your fist you can see the hull bow when you hit it. (I'm assuming he was getting at the same thing.....they'll all crack if you hit something like a dock) The Nautique, of course, would not do this, according to him. All that may or may not be true, but I think you have to consider the source on these things. I've not heard one bad thing about the Moomba yet, other than that. They supposedly are produced right off the same line as Supra. I think if you don't need all of the bells and whistles (which you can add if you do) and you don't want to pay for a name, the Moomba looks like the way to go. |

You can't go wrong. I would not rec running into any docks though! lol! I have a launch and love it. I was told they can keep their cost down because they don't spend a ton on marketing, sponsorships, etc...There is a difference between supra and moomba. The hull is different and the moomba is smaller. I believe they are manufactured on the same "line" but they use different molds and accessories.
Call the manufacturer and they will give you all the details you need to know.
Good luck and be sure to post pics when you purchase! _________________ "glass or ass?" I'll take glass, thanks! |

| I think what this guy may be refferring to is that Moomba direct drives have only a single fiberglass sidewall. Moomba V-drives and all Supras have a double sidewall. Neither are made with less quality than any other company. How I understood it, they use the exacty same fiberglass construction. The complaint about the hull cracking is not true. It is just the gelcoat having some small spider cracks in it, the same that any other boats might have. |

I have a Mobius that I purchased in 2001. I love it! Drives nice. Wake is good. The dealer here is always willing to help.
Before I bought it, I looked at Mastercraft. They were very critical of moomba's too! Just competition. The moomba dealers did'nt down grade mastercraft though. Very professional. _________________ Lporter |

Go slow on the Moomba Mobius LSV. I bought a new 02 in November of 02, and the boat's been back to the shop (90 miles away) three times already and the transmission still leaks. Rick Tinker, Matt Brown and Island Marine in Corona have all "felt my pain" and they have promised to get it fixed, but, as I told them, I can't ride behind empathy. I need concrete assurances that they will honor their warranty obligations, and do so in a timely manner. Boat's already been in the shop for 6 weeks- and that was in the wintertime.
Here's what I've offered to Skier's Choice/Moomba: they make an appointment to get my boat fixed. The day before the appointment, the dealer picks up my boat. If the boat is not fixed in two weeks, they pay me $75/day until the boat is back in my possession. If their product and their customer service are as good as they say it is, we should have a deal. If they don't accept this offer, that speaks volumes, to me anyway, about how much real substance their talk really has.
I agree with other owners on this though: when this boat is running and reliable, it's an awesome boat for the money. The wake has just enough lip for a real nice pop, but it's not a brick wall. The boat also looks real sweet. |

In my 2001 Mobius, I run about 1400 lbs of ballast total. I wrote an article on this site explaining how I did my ballast system. Here is the link: http://www.wakeboarder.com/display.phtml?id=355
But anyways, I run a 750 lb sack in the rear storage, a fly high tube sack(375 lbs) under the rear seat, and the stock sack (I'm guessing around 500 lbs) that was under the rear seat I put in the front ski locker. At first I had the tube sack in the front but I noticed when I would have people sitting up front the wake would be a lot bigger. I also noticed that when I filled the stock ballast under the rear seat, it was only filling half way. I decided to swap the two so that both bags can fill up all the way. The wake is killer on it now. I wish I had some pictures to post. |
