So I've been wakeboarding for a little over a year now and I wanted this "offseason" (winter) to be a time for me to progress a lot. I'm able to do some small stuff like 360s and whatnot. Well today I realized that I was just tapping the potential pop out of my board. I guess I've been standing tall too soon or something but today I was just delaying getting tall and I was getting much bigger air than normal. Just the smallest delay resulted in such a dramatic difference. I probably had my biggest jump of my wakeboard career today and all because I just waited to pop a second late. Has anyone else had an event like mine.

Rainther45, oh yeah. many times. Sometimes you learn to be patient. Thats what helped me out with getting consistent with my tantrums.

The day I finally got the concept of "edging through the wake" was like a lightbulb lighting up in my head. Laughing

Yeah so I was able to get back out today and I kept edging through the wake. But twice today while I was in the air my body just went into a raley-like position. Both spills hurt really bad too. What am I doing that is making me lay out like that
? Would it have anything to do w/ my rope cause right now I'm using just a crappy ski line cause my idiot bro and his friend shredded my good rope while I was at school. Would the streching and contracting of the rope have anything to do with this?

what is throwing you off axis is something i learned from cobe mikacich way back in 2000 when i was at some sort of promotion in michigan, it happens because you are physically jumping off the wake, you hit the peak and buck yourself instead of letting the wake do the work for you. i think that makes sense

jhilly8982, actually that makes a lot of sense. Those times that I flew out I was definitely trying to go huge so I'm sure that I was trying to jump myself

Make an effort to keep your handle low. It will lower your hinge point.
