Hey,
I usually get most of the spin but I never can make the backpass with the handle, I just simply can't. I've tried practicing on land but I still can't really get to do it on the water...Any sugestions? Question

i have the same problem..practice makes perfect i filnally got them like 2 weeks ago...dont worry soo much about the spin as the handle pass...because once you have the pass youll complete the rotation...just focus on the handle passs...keep both hands on the handleuntill its to your side, then grab it ith BOTH hands ...after you have it locked in, let go with your back hand and you got it...sounds a lot easier than it is lol
good luck Very Happy

In addition to what Nemesis7384 said, try and pass low, otherwise you might get pulled to one side and those falls suck. Just pull hard with your back hand when you're at the peak and reach around and BAM you've landed a 360º

I found that I had trouble with the handle pass because I was trying it too early, just wait, it's an easy spin and you'll have plenty of time to complete the spin. Even if it feels wrong and like you don't have enough time, it works. The pass will come, and with it the spin

Shaun Murray gave me this advice at a clinic. Hold onto the handle with both hands until your front hand gets stopped by your hip as you roatae your body, then reach around to grab it. That helped me get my first 3

make sure u also get maximum pop by standing ttall at the wake. It is a fairly easy spin so you can do it in a very short time. Just dont throw them off the wake

When I first learned my three I never had the handle pass, but I could spin like a top. My brother told me to wait before I spun, and even try to make eye contact with something on the boat before trying to turn the board. That helped me get the handle pass, but I still wasn't landing it. I found that once I passed the handle I was falling backwards on the landing. Sooner or later I figured out that it was because i was leaning back in my cut so that I could get a good pop, that caused me to fall out on the landing. Keep your back straight during the cut and keep a steady cut all the way through the wake. Hopefully you'll land it! Tramp work always helps too!! Very Happy
Good luck,
Holland

sup man if your not going off axis the problem might be your not passing the handle quick enough try passing as soon as you leave the wake this will make less tension in the rope making it easier to pass

lat and good luck wit it!!

I landed my first 360 2 weeks ago and landed it on my second attempt. As people have already said you just need to pop, pull and pass. I found that spinning wasn't the hard part at all it, i was trying to rush the handle pass and was just throwing the handle before it was even in my hand. After slowing it down a bit and makeing sure ive passed the handle before letting go with the other hand ive landed every single time since.

I agree keep on spinning on a kneeboard until you can do them non-stop and then try an air, it's much more forgiving you can even land backwards, it's great!

POP-PULL-PASS

Even now if I ever start loosing spins thats usually 90 percent of the problem, rushing it and missing one of the steps.. My mates dad got us stickers made up that say that that we now have on your boards Razz ..

HHI Dave, biggest thing for people trying their first 3's is that they don't commit. You may find yourself just pulling a little bit, getting scared, and stopping at 90 degrees, which equals ouch. Just make sure you edge just enough to clear the wake, and when you pull, use both hands to get the handle to your back hip, then make the reach. If you just yank with your back hand, you'll find your front hand goes straight up and you'll never make the pass.

LakeIolaLuke, Thanks for the tips. Are you talking about a HS/FS 360? Because I was thinking more about a HS/BS and pulling with my front hand. Question

Are you goofy? Right handed people tend to be able to spin counterclockwise better than clockwise. That's why Harf's, Rusty's, And parks' 1080s were all switch frontside, because they're all goofy. Since I've never done any BS 3's I can' give you any advice.

Yeah FS spins are a lot easier. When I was trying to do my first 360 I was doing them BS and after a few hard falls I realized I should try the other way. I landed it after 2 trys going FS.

One of my goals for this summer is a 360. I'm right-handed and ride goofy, so I'm trying translate some of this stuff. I'm thinking that a HS/FS 360 is what would be easiest. I guess if I'm trying to pull this off, I'd be heading from my left to my right (HS) and should pull hard with both hands instead of just my right (back) hand? Do I have this right? I'm getting some of this backwards with my being a goofy rider.

Kneeboards kill my ankles, so I'm wondering why nobody has mentioned just practicing handle passing by doing surface 360's on a WB. Would be a lot easier on my body. Is there something I'm missing out on here?

pet575, Here's a goofy HS/FS 360

Note that the rider lets go with his front (right) hand and pulls the handle with his rear (left) hand during the spin.

Here's a link to the trick tip.

A W2W 360 is my next trick goal too.. I'm hoping to learn it at the Wakeboard Camp at the end of the month. Wish me luck.

Thanks, dude. You're the man. Good luck at camp and remember the camp rules:

1. Never be the first one to fall asleep in the cabin/tent;
2. There is no such thing as the "Lolly Monster";
3. ALL scoutmasters sleep in the same sleeping bag with the boys;
4. The girls' camp across the lake is more heavily guarded than you think.

Make sure you keep the handle right against the small of your back when you pass, you pretty much just want to drag it across your back.

That's a great way to help visualize the pass. Thanks for the tip!

Also cutting in with your handle on your lead hip will help with body position as well..
