Oh okay... so they had school shootings? They had to walk through metal detectors every morning? They had the threat of terrorism constantly looming over them? I mean... I know that I will understand what they're saying when I get older. I understand most of it now. Believe it or not, I'm actually very mature for my age and can almost completely understand where they're coming from. I'm just saying that there is a lot of things different about now and when they were my age. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. tbonez - im behind u 100%
tho adults may think they kno everything about us they dont. u'd be shocked and amazed and how much more difficult high school life is. like i sayd in another post, theres kids dealing drugs out of their cd cases, there are people that beat the hell out of each other just because its a 'ritual'. teenage life sucks and its not easy at all. if anyone saw a show the other day (i think it was Dr.Phil) he was talking about teen-age girls and how cruel we can be. its true. i kno countless amounts of girls that cry because their not perfect. i can easily name off about 5 people off the top of my head that are either anorexic or bulemic. ITS HORRIBLE |

I had classmates snorting coke in the back of the classroom as well as dealing all sorts of illicit stuff from the parking lot back in my days of high school.
That was 20 yrs ago. |

Well it's not the brightest idea to deal drugs on school campus. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

Phantom's right, things haven't changed that much. My parents got outta Korea a short time before the Korean War so you'd better believe the threat of that loomed over their heads. In the 60's & 70's there were protests & riots at schools where police actually opened fire on the students. When I was growing up it was the Cold War & the Cuban Missile Crisis. Now it's Osama Bin Laden & the war in Iraq.
Things don't change, as much as you would like to believe they do. To say that "Times are harder for me than they were for you" is a cop out. You guys will understand a LOT better what we're saying in 10 years. I don't care how mature you think you are, there's just no substitute for time. |
