I don't get wakeboarder mag but we got this thing in the mail saying we get a free issue and could win a board if we sent this thing in. But everyone seems to think you get screwed over in the deal. Has anyone else tried it?

if you live in australia, get Boarder magasine. its the best.
it used to be just wakeboarding when it first came out, then a bit of kiteboarding started coming into it, now you prettty much get 2 magasines in one now. i got a subscription from like the 3rd issue that came out and ive never regretted it.

slightly off topic here...

has anyone ever been skipped by wbm??? i re-subscribed in nov.; i got the dec. issue, then the jan. issue... so i thought everything was cool. but now, i have yet to receive the feb. issue (WHICH I REALLY WANT BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF INFO ON BOARDS & BINDINGS FOR A NEWBIE, like myself). so yah? has anyone, who is a subscriber, ever not received an issue during the terms of their subscription???

I just received the new issue today. I have never been skipped during my subscription term. I have received some issues that were competely mangled and unrecognizable, and I remember one time the magazine was in the bookstore before it was in my hands (which is in-ex-cuse-able; like steinbrenner in seinfeld), but I have never been skipped.

As for the ads, I agree with you on that one wholeheardedly. it's crazy and out of hand.

This too is slightly off topic, but I feel that right now, wbm is playing catch-up with alliance. Take that as you wish, but that is where i'm standing. Although, I'm not saying both of those mags are completely original either, because there are certain topics that are horribly similar to those in other mags (snowboarder, tws, etc). but oh well. blah blah blah blah blah....
