Is there any problem with mixing binding/board manufacturers? I'm buying a 2002 Hyperlite Premier wakeboard from a buddy, but will be purchasing newer bindings. Is it safe to go with Liquid Force bindings or will only a Hyperlite baseplate fit the Hyperlite board?

They will fit, don't worry....

I think the new ronix bindings use a different type of system though.

Liquid force boots and hyperlite boards are not compatible. and vice versa. the hardware is different lengths. the bolts that come with LF boots are too short for the Hyperlite inserts. Hyperlite inserts are too long for a LF board.

I'm sorry... I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I just wanted him to be aware that it wasn't as easy as pull stuff out of the box, bolt up then go. The proper bolt kits are available from both manufacturers. LF boots on Hyperlite board = Long insert kit. Hyperlite boots on LF board= Short insert kit.

It'll work perfect, no worries.

The only snag you may run into is the bolts from a HL board may be too long for a LF board (or vice-versa, I can't remember how it goes). Either way, you won't hurt anything by co-mingling manufacturers.

I have a 06 LF board and 06 Hyperlite ERA bindings and there was no problem at all putting the bindings to the board. The screws weren't too long or too short to my knowledge. The bindings are attatched solid and there is no movement from the plate. I don't think you should have a problem with mixing manufacturers. I'm not sure aobut LF bindings on a Hyperlite board, but the visa versa seemed to be fine to me.

why didnt u just experiement with normal bolts laying around the house, or put a pin in the slot, mark it, then measure how long its supposed to be, common sense, at least for me
