Do you have the manual? I just bought an 87 and it had a list of things to check in the engine and transmission from time to time. I have the whole manual, if you need advice, I'll check it out for ya. |

I have an 86 2001 and have had no problems. Just keep your engine flushed with fresh water after use and make sure your riser gaskets stay in good condition.Replace impellar regularly(yearly) even if it looks to be in good condition. Also, have a qualified tech. check your trans-shaft allignment yearly cause if it is off by a fraction of a millimeter, it could ruin trans. If you just bought it, I would rebuild the carb just to make sure it lasted and runs good for years,it only cost 60 bucks for a rebuild kit. Keep everything lubricated really well and you'll have a nice boat for years to come! I assume you have a 351, any questions feel free to email me! |
