Well my GF suggested we go somewhere for the weekend, since I have been running around constantly so much lately. So we decided to get a cabin in Gatlinburg. Man this place is gonna be friggin sweet!!
No jeep, no work, no anything stressful. Just a hot tub, real log fireplace, and a kick ass mountain! Woo hoo! I can't wait.
Sorry, yeah I am gloating, but I am just excited to have a mini vacation where I am actually gonna relax. Cool

I expect a fuyll report including any of the following:

The animal that messed w/ you all weekend.

The crazy coot down the road.

The jackass on the road on the way up there who cut you off.

Whatever accident you had that cost you several hundred $$$ to the rental place.

Feel free to go outside my list.

My lady and I stayed in one of those for a couple of days after backpacking through the Smoky's for a week. Very relaxing.

It was a bit scary thinking about previous activities in the hot tub and whirlpool bath, but we braved it and came out of there not needing to go to the clinic.

Hollywood, yeah I was already prepared for the $35 clean up fee. Unless you are talking about stain removal as well. Twisted Evil

jt09, driving a 4Runner 3 hours up a mountain with me at the wheel, then being isolated in a house in the woods in East Tennessee. Oh yeah, the digi-cam is getting fresh batteries for this one.

mbuck, thanks man. Thanks for adding to my paranoia. Laughing

Anyone ever watch that show "Upright Citizen's Brigade"? Well they do this phoney news skit doing the black light think in motel rooms. The camera is spanning the room with all the sauce on the walls, cieling, TV and it comes back to the "reporter" dude. He's got the green sh*t all over his face! He's all blabbing about how disgusting all this is and what not, playing it cool. I hope this doesn't turn into one of those "you had to be there/see it" things because it's truely one of the funniest TV moments I can remember.

Shawn Madison, WOW. Dead right, Wears Valley. Other than I know it's cold, is there something you know that I don't? Any neat tips or ideas you know of around there? Firewood is provided, just not the kindling.

Hollywood, if there are to be any shenanigans, I will have them on film. I can just see me in the scenee from "The Great Outdoors" with a bat flying around inside and my trying to get it out. Laughing

We could put your ass in the middle of the tundra, by yourself and you would have 9 things happen to you by lunch.

You whould take a bunch of isolated in the woods slasher flicks to watch.

Be sure to tell the roadside moonshine salesman guy exactly which cabin you'll be staying in. Pretty mouths are rare in those parts.

Second on this note. Granted your trip might be different, but the wood they supplied for us was extremely green and wouldn't burn.

Awesome joke would be if you busted through the door at 3am and fire up the chain saw. Maybe put on an old school hockey mask for flair. You'll be getting laid in no time after that.

Use kroger's at the intersection in Pigeon Forge. It is about 7 miles where you will be at. I like Wier's Valley. It is quite. Calhoun's is an easy trip from you. It will be after Kroger's. Try and get reservations if you can.

Stone Cold was there last weekend with my group.

If you need any help - I will shoot you my cellphone number via pm. Feel free to call me and I will hook you up. Twisted Evil

Haugy.
I used to go every time on MLK weekend. I wouldn't even try to go to ober, it's too warm anyways. But this is quite possibly the most crowded weekend you could possibly choose to go to gatlinburg. TONS of churches go.

Bring some Taffy back, oh yeah and the guiness museum SUCKS. Yes it has a lambo, but that was the only good part of it.

I heard all the ripley's stuff was good. As well as the many little stores they have.

WakeboardDrumma, Your are totally right. Stay at your chalet and enjoy a weekend with your significant other.

One day I will post how MasterCraft stars and strips got started in Pigeon Forge.

haugy, lucky stuff. My parents are looking at getting their next chalet in weir's valley. Next time you go, get this place though: Abide With Me. I mighta been able to give you a deal. My parents are actually down there right now.

I love Gatlinburg. Haugy, have you been there before? I can probably suggest some cool activities depending on what you and the lady friend are into (besides the obvious).

I'm heading up there with some friends tomorrow night. My company has a chalet that's free to use. We're only staying tomorrow and heading to nc for the rest of the weekend to do some snowboarding.

Gatlinburg has a severe lack of bars. It's cool just to relax, but the nightlife is awful.

JRW160,
I believe it's mainly due to the fact of all the churches that go there.

Hey Haug,
Check out China Bazaar, get a couple of knives.

arof, yeah I am excited.

We are going to get away from everything. I have enough of a nightlife here in Nashville. Enough people to deal with day to day. This is really a trip for me to relax. To put down the pen and the welder and get away. The only time we will leave the cabin is for supplies. Thanks for the store info Shawn Madison.

Thanks for all the info guys. I am looking forward to it.

Definitely a big place for church retreats and stuff like that.

I remember buying throwing stars from china bazaar when I was younger.

Haugy it is good to hear you are coming over to the Good Side of Tennesse (eventhough I know you live in the Middle).

What is the name of the Cabin Retal place you will be staying at?
If you want to hold that information till you get back that is understandable.

I know you are planning to stay inside for most of your trip which is a good thing because it is supposed to be rainy all weekend. However I know that you like the Park and from Wears Valley it fairly easy to get to. You don't have to go all the way down to Townsend up to Gatlinburg to get into the park from Wears Valley.
Lyon Springs Road will take you over into Metcal Bottoms and it is a little easier to get into Park.

Need a little more information just let me know.

WakeboardDrumma, he's probably busy writing a novel from the weekend. Try searching some news stations from the area.
