|
|
Hey, my dad and I are currently looking at a 2001 Sunkicker (Sunsetter LX) and a 2003 Wakesetter DD as possible boats for next season. Both are pretty similar in features, but the Kicker has quite a few less hours on it and is in better condition overall (the Setter is still in really good shape, just not as pristine). Anyways, I wakeboard a lot and my dad is big into slalom, so we want a pretty good crossover boat. I'd say it would probably be used for wakeboarding a lot more than slalom though, so the possibility for a good wake is key.
I'm just wondering how much of a difference there will be in these two hulls. I believe I heard the Sunsetter/Wakesetter hull was redone in 2002, but I can't be sure. Is one of these boats going to give off a noticeably better wake for wakeboarding than the other? My preference is to go for the Wakesetter, but my dad seems more interested in the Sunkicker (because of the lower hours and cleaner appearance).
Thanks in advance guys, any input you have about either of these boats is greatly appreciated. Hope everyone's enjoying the Holidays. |

the wakestter LSV was redone for 04, and the VLX was redone for 05. I believe that the earlier models have the same hull as the current ride models. Is the sunkicker a V-drive? _________________

| Maestro, hope it works out this time! You'll need a boat if you aren't at camp! |

stusumm Thanks for that link man, that's exactly what I was looking for!
ontrider Thanks, I hope it works out too! I'm like 99% sure I won't be back at the Woods this year. I was thinking Basecamp, but I found out Laura's not working there this year, and the money's not that good, so I think I may be looking for work around the cottage. But yes, I hope one of these works out for us as well Lots of money out the pocket for gas, but well worth it. Hope you had a good Christmas man, and Happy Holidays... |

Maestro, what does Laura have to do with it? Then again I don't really know which of those guys (basecamp crew) you're friends with, but she rode with you guys at the woods right?
Anway, yeah I hope you had a good one too. It was short though, I'm back at work already and saving up the holidays for when the damn sun comes out! |

Haha, nothing like that... I just have a lot of fun working with her, and that was one of the reasons why I wanted to move over there. Plus having a good boat at the cottage would be a huge reason to stick around there for the summer.
Holidays have been interesting, we'll put it that way Some good stories to tell... kind of sick of sitting around the house all the time (playing on the comp) but my mom's offering to send me to Florida in the spring to get me away from technology, so something good might come from it! That sucks you're back at work already though - any big new years' plans? (And maybe @ this point we should discontinue and restart this conversation over msn haha) |

Good point, too bad they don't let us use msn here! Commies.
After this week I've got like 7 of the next 9 days off though so I'll be around a bit I'm sure... we can swap stories although my xmas parties were a huge letdown. So I'll catch ya on it later for sure.
And now back to boating with Malibus! |
