We set out for the man made beach in front of the university here, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi... Brought along a nice little floating 20' slider and our winch, dubbed the Mammoth. Started out sun shine and beautiful but it got a little overcast before the university police showed up to cut our fun a bit short. While there were no signs or gates indicating a vehicle could not be on the beach, that turned out to be the rule anyhow. They were nice about it and the guy actually asked a lot of questions about the winch. He had never heard of such a thing, which isn't too surprising at this point. Here are some pictures from the session.. We all got to hit the slider a couple times and I still call it a success. Too bad we can't ride there anymore... it was a pretty sweet spot.

looks like you had a great day...
Can't you put the wich on a small trailer which can be pushed to the beach?
 just an idea...

We can actually stake it down.. but since we didn't know that was going to be an issue we didnt bring the stakes or the tools we needed to do so. Doh.

A friend of ours aquired them from some company that was tossing it out. He asked them if they cared if he grabbed it and they said go ahead. He actually got a ton more of it. Problem is, it gets real messy... And isn't exactly environmentally friendly. When Kevin wrecked on it we were swimming after chunks of styrofoam.  |

im done with winching, i have a brand new grinch sitting in my garage and ive used it twice, i just dont think its fun anymore. Id rather ride cable  |

| nah they just waited till we left.. ran licenses to check for warrants and whatever but we were all clean. they were bored or something. boo. technically the only problem was we were not supposed to have a vehicle on that beach.. but since there was no sign saying that we couldnt get into any trouble. |

popos on the lookout for winchers....what has the world come to....i like how skateboarders (i am one dont worry nothing against em) vandalize other ppls property and wakers vandalize their own and still get in trouble

man thats b/s they don't allow vehicles on that beach. i saw frat boys with their trucks on it all the time. oh well CC campus fuzz musta been bored that day like you said.
